About
Singer-songwriter Rich Driver began performing at age eight (yes, it was in a church.) Since then, his music career has covered a variety of roles and genres. As the singer/bassist for the blue/pop trio Blue House Burning, he shared the stage with blues legends Merle Saunders, Koko Taylor, Duke Robillard, and Norton Buffalo. Later he co-found the Northern California's acid-jazz ensemble West Coast Rhythm Section, the band toured the extensively sharing the bill with artists such as Charlie Hunter and Karl Denson. In 2001, the band was honored with a Sacramento Music Award (Sammie) for Best Jazz.
Today, the singer-songwriter combines pop and rock while borrowing from jazz, alt-country, and reggae. In July 2008, he released his first true solo CD (self-titled.) The CD is a collection of songs covering a five-year period. Humorous and sometimes insightful, the themes of his songs range from loss and prime-of-life plotting to daily trivia and pop-culture observations.
