Rat Pak Records

Rat Pak Records is New England’s preeminent rock and hard rock independent record label.  Since its conception in March of 2003, the label has worked with such artists as Boomslang, Dead Season, Hypersleep, Porter, Dipthong, Burning the Lie, Hour-Past, Window Pain, Q, Twisted Roots, Vegas Temper, and Mindset X. Holding the record as New England’s top-selling independent label for nearly three years running, Rat Pak’s success and longevity are owed to more than quality bands and a solid marketing approach to today’s ever-changing entertainment industry. Owner/founder Joe O’Brien attributes Rat Pak’s success to taking on all aspects of the business: "In this day and age, as an indie label you have to do more than just have good bands, you have to aggressively and consistently attack all facets of the market... be the ultimate networker... and above all else be true to those you come into contact with.”

Working from this philosophy, Rat Pak provides a full gamut of offerings, including multiple live shows per year (encompassing both national and regional acts), band management, full distribution services, and a weekly live radio show entitled The Big Rock Show, whose recent interview guests have included members of Judas Priest, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Testament, Godsmack, Static X, Shadows Fall, Five Finger Death Punch, Sevendust, Ozzy Osbourne’s band, and many more.  The Big Rock Show has grown into syndication on both FM and Internet radio stations, and maintains a base audience of 7,000 listeners a week.  Rat Pak Records has also released several compilation CDs which feature not only Rat Pak bands, but also include side projects of artists from bands such as Queensryche, Metal Church, Rob Zombie, Dropbox, Soulfly, Stuck Mojo, and more.  Twisted Roots

In 1991, Twisted Roots released their fourth independent release titled 'Room to Breathe'. In support of the new release, Twisted Roots circumvented the 'Cover Band Only' club scene by creating their own venues. Most notable were the 'Outlaw Ridge' shows that took place in the backwoods of Gray, Maine. Fans of the new, heavier style of music arrived by the hundreds for these out of the way gatherings. After a series of performances at the 'Boston Rock Off', Twisted Roots landed an independent label deal with 'Cherrydisc Records' out of Boston (Tree, Letters To Cleo). Later, the song 'Tracks' (Turn To Stone) had hit Maine radio by storm, taking Twisted Roots out of the unknown to the mainstream. While showcasing for various distribution companies and record labels, the band used their notoriety to raise money for such events as The Ronald McDonald House, Amnesty International and The Grief Relief Center to name a few. Twisted Roots' next release was a live performance at their sold-out State Theater show called 'Bad Blood / Blown Motor', the name was inspired by the bands previous tour experience. The live release, recorded by Lance Vardis (Engineer: Turn To Stone, Virus, Communication, Red, The Seed, 12 SFATB) was created as a way to generate money to support the band as they went out to tour again. Cherrydisc released Twisted Roots' 'Communication'. 'Communication' was a sharp contrast to their previous releases as Twisted Roots sought to re-create their signature sound and delve into more creative instrumentation and structure, introducing Hammond Keyboards and Clavinova played by Frank Martin and background vocals from local area music veteran Darien Brahms (Knots & Crosses, Darien Brahms).

In 1997, Twisted Roots released 'Red'. Upon its' release, the band gained spins on Maine radio and joined forces with local management company 'Ripchord' (Rustic Overtones). In 2000, Twisted Roots released 'Body In The Trunk, Brick On The Gas' and yet again began to solicit strong indie and major record labels.

In 2003, Twisted Roots came together for a benefit concert to raise money for the '9-11 Childrens Fund'. The response from the concert was over-whelming as Roots fans asked for more than just the one-time appearance. In 2004, the band released 'The Seed' all the while writing material for the next release to be announced.

In 2007, Twisted Roots joined forces with 'Rat Pak Records', releasing '12 Skies, Fire and the Black'. The single 'New Monday' entered rotation as the band went out in support of the album, playing regionally, eventually procuring the opening spot for Ozzy Osbourne in 2008 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.  For links, locations, and show dates visit

  PULSE 8

Since the band's birth in June of 2000, Pulse8 has been successfully putting Cincinnati hard rock music on the map. The Cincinnati based five piece concentrates on heart pounding rhythms and choruses that stick with you. The band’s front-man Doug Carter, is the essence of insanity. With Screams that chill you to the bone and verses that make you move to the beat. Doug is the perfect blend for the future of vocals as they are known. Doug is backed by the dynamic duo of brothers Damon and Scott Mocahbee, who lay down the thickest and heaviest guitar tones needed to put the pulse in to Pulse8, and last but not least by any means is Eddie Black and Scott Amiott, with their heart pounding drum beats and bass lines that raise your feet off of the floor. Their new CD "Tell Me What It Is" - is available now available nationwide and online. Visit www.ratpakrecords.com and www.myspace.com/pulse8 for all locations and show dates.

  3 KISSES

3 KISSES jumps from one high energy style to another with traces of just about every cool female-fronted rock band of the last 20 years. The band has been compared to an array of artists including the Cranberries, Luscious Jackson, the Breeders, Joan Jett, the Buzzcocks, Letters to Cleo, Wendy O. Williams, Blondie, the Ramones and everything in between. They have coined the phrase ‘Texas Party Punk’ to describe their music. 3 KISSES’ live performance has been called ‘freakin’ explosive’ and lead singer/guitarist Tish Meeks has been referred to as ‘a ball of fire on stage.’ Along with husband, Tony Meeks (guitar) Tish launched 3 KISSES in Austin, TX, in January 2004. Since then they have performed over 350 live shows for over 300,000 people. Tish and Tony Meeks were featured on ABC’s ‘Wife Swap’ in 2007 performing for almost 15 million viewers. Bassist, Brian Hymel, and drummer Andrew Wood complete the recipe for 3 Kisses’ punkish ‘cuddle-angst’ with a positive, party vibe.

Tumultuous lyrics delivered in a zany, upbeat fashion has become a 3 KISSES trademark and make their songs addicting. Martin Folkman, Publisher of the Musician’s Atlas writes, “3 KISSES is fronted by the kinetic Tish Meeks who no guitar, mic stand or stage can contain.  [This band] packs more energy into a 3-minute song than all the WMD's combined!”

3 KISSES has been featured on the FOX 7 Morning Show in Austin, TX, WOAI-NBC in San Antonio, TX, KTRK-ABC in Houston, TX, FOX Morning Show in Houston, KLBJ 93.7FM in Austin, KPFT 90.1 in Houston, Indie-Music.com, Female Musician Magazine, One Way Magazine, Origivation Magazine, The Macon Telegraph, The Brenham Banner Press, The College Station Eagle, EDGE Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly, The Austin American Statesman to name a few.

The band premiered their first music video Yellow in September 2004, released their debut CD Wings in November 2004, and released their sophomore album, It All Comes Down To Me in June 2006, which they followed up with an East Coast Tour. Their 3rd album, Nut Job was released in May 2007. Following an East Coast Tour in September 2008, 3 KISSES signed with Rat Pak Records and released their 4th album, American Breakdown in February 2009. Notable performances include multiple showcases during SXSW in Austin, Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA, Independent Music Conference in Philadelphia, PA, Dewey Beach Music Conference in Dewey Beach, DE and Austin’s Heart of Texas Rockfest.

In addition to their regular tour schedule, 3 KISSES supports breast cancer research and treatment programs by performing at Susan G. Komen Races across Texas. Tish’s original story, Legacy, about the loss of her mother to breast cancer, appeared in Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hansen’s Chicken Soup for the Recovering Soul in December 2004.

3 KISSES is sponsored and/or endorsed by Paul Reed Smith Guitars, Daisy Rock Guitars, Dunlop, Miller Lite, Jägermeister, Coffin Case, Dirtbag Clothing, Old Dog Products, GoGirls Music, Independent Artist Registry, Texas Independent Musicians, Music Gorilla, TuneToad and Rockin’ Moms. Tish’s e-book “How To Get Band Sponsorships And Endorsements” is available at www.bandsponsorshipsandendorsements.com. Spiral Trance

Freedom from convention, music with intention.  This is the well oiled, hard rock machine driven by Spiral Trance.

After years of touring and polishing their live sound, Spiral Trance returns with their forthcoming release All In Due Time, which finds the Milwaukee quartet pushing themselves to their artistic limits and taking their songwriting in a daring new direction. Exploring every corner of the hard rock genre, All In Due Time flows seamlessly through crushing guitar riffs, melancholy keyboards, gorgeous vocal harmonies and back-breaking drums, making it the group's most ambitious recording to date.

After a few early demos in 1997, Spiral Trance was featured on MTV's Dennis Rodman World Tour Video with their song, "Bitter."  A full length CD followed.  The CD, On Our Terms,  garnered national publicity for the group with two nominations and performances at the LA Music Awards in 2001, and again in 2002 as "National Artist Of The Year." In 2002, Spiral Trance  placed in the Top Ten at the ASCAP Grammy Showcase Awards for their song "Hellacious," and again in 2003 for "Breathe Again."

Building on that success, Spiral Trance recently won the 2006 Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Award for “Song of the Year” for "Hellacious." In 2007, "Breathe Again" was licensed by Mississippi-based Lightning Lab Productions for use in the upcoming film documentary, Solid Bodies, The 50 Year Guitar War. In addition, the songs "We Are," and "When After Comes" were featured on two E-Books penned by Master of Horror writer Alan Dane.

Spiral Trance has enjoyed consistent Top Three rankings on
BroadJam.com in 10 plus categories, including “Number Two in the World,” and “Number One in Rock and Hard Rock.” Spiral Trance has done numerous hard rock showcases, including the world-famous Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood, CA, Chicago's Meca Music Conference and Milwaukee's internationally known music festival, Summerfest, where they've played to enthusiastic crowds for the last several years.  Spiral Trance has charted on more than 50 CMJ radio stations throughout the country, as well as several national stations such as WLZR and WLUM Milwaukee, WJJO Madison, WLUP 97.9 Chicago and KCLA Radio Los Angeles.

"Exuding star power and a pure, raw energy, Spiral Trance does a deadly live show as well as providing superb material from the recording studio..." says Dirty Dave of KCLA Radio in Los Angeles, CA. "Spiral Trance is one band not to miss."  For locations, links, and show dates visit

Where Vegas Lies

In the summer of 2007 a group of guys joined to perform and preach the everyday fantasies that the average human shines away from. They work to open everyone’s eyes to life’s pleasures, and pull them away from the worries of being damned. This group out of Houston, Texas calls themselves “Where Vegas Lies”.

“Where Vegas Lies” was built through the eyes of Chris D’Angelo, guitarist/vocalist, who wrote about personal experiences and how he wanted everyone around him to break out of societies expectations. After a long journey with his former band “Drive By June” Chris built a home studio where he laid his tracks and ideas on the table. Chris met Daniel Crane, lead guitarist, through an ex-girlfriend. Daniel had a free spirit personality and was always accompanied with the presence of a lady. Not ready to commit to any serious relationship, his guitar was his life time partner. Chris also met Kyle and his cousin Kevin at a past “Drive By June” concert. Kyle, bassist was an original member of “Drive By June” in 2003. Kyle welcomed Chris to his house in Sugarland, Texas where alcohol and music were the main attraction of the night. Kyle loves to entertain himself with a friendly atmosphere and people he is comfortable around. His cousin Kevin, drums/percussion, was also in attendance at the show, and would be interacting in the nights activities. Kevin has been playing drums with Kyle for as long as they could remember. Kevin was more laid back and just wanted a chance to perform. Not always partaking in some of the partying and consumption that the other members were joining in on, he was always there to witness the lifestyle of “Where Vegas Lies”.

After about three months of rehearsal these four men known as “Where Vegas Lies” performed their first show at a local coffee house. The show was a hit with over 200 in viewers for a venue whose capacity wasn’t big enough for. “Where Vegas Lies” moved on to bigger venues and bigger events; opening for bands like “Jupiter One” and “Run Kid Run”. In April of 2008 “Where Vegas Lies” put out their E.P. entitled “Faithful Sins”. There single, "Lady Luck", was broadcasted on “Supernova’s” pod cast and “94.5 The Buzz” new artist.

Cody Willke took management over the band and started booking shows at different local venues and pubs. Cody’s main goal was to put heavy hitting shows together with good bands and good draw to expand “Where Vegas Lies” audience. “Where Vegas Lies” played on a bill with a band called “3 Kisses” from Brenham, Texas. The two bands worked well together and built a strong relationship with each other playing show after show. “3 Kisses” later pitch the group to their label “Rat Pak Records”. “Where Vegas Lies” signed with “Rat Pak” at the begin of March, 2009 and are currently working on their first full length album entitled “Ace of Forgotten Hearts”

This group of guys pulled together for one main reason: to open the worlds eyes to the human lusts that fuel the fire for our society today. Their lifestyle of pleasure, entertainment, and sinful touch creates the journey of “Where Vegas Lies”.   For links, locations and show dates visit www.ratpakrecords.com and www.myspace.com/wherevegaslies

Dark Every Day

Dark Every Day is an Austin, Texas based band, by way of Brenham, with a metal style combining punk, heavy metal, hardcore, and hard rock all in one. The founding members, Tony and Manuel, who are also brothers, started the band in their garage after learning to play their instruments in only a few years. With Tony on bass and Manuel on guitar, they were searching for more members to round out the band. After a few members came and changes were made they settled on Wally on rhythm guitar and Patrick on drums.

Since their forming in summer of 2008, Dark Every Day have teamed up with 3 Kisses lead singer Tish Meeks, who has been a mentor to them and brought them up in the industry. After word of the band got to Joe O'Brien of Rat Pak Records, Dark Every Day was signed as a developing band. Their hard work has paid off and they are recognized as a indie label band. Their album W.T.F., recorded and produced by Cherry Pit Studios founder and Marashino front man Eric LaBrosse, will be released through Rat Pak Records and Century Media in April of 2009.  For links, locations and show dates visit www.ratpakrecords.com and  www.myspace.com/darkeveryday
