"Scream!" è l'unico disco ufficiale rilasciato nel 2004 dai milanesi Rapid Fire, quintetto che un po' di tempo dopo l'uscita dell'album andò incontro come spesso accade al classico scioglimento/pausa di riflessione. Oggi il gruppo si è in qualche modo riformato, con nuovi componenti accanto agli "storici" Marco Poliani (chitarra solista) e Antonio Pecere (ottimo cantante già con i Sigma e poi con i Betoken) e ha già una bella lista di date dal vivo programmate.

“It almost seems as if Italy has survived the bombast wave and has regained its footing, because with RAPID FIRE we get another band out of the traditional Heavy Metal genre and leaves a pretty good impression! Founded in 1998 RAPID FIRE have just released their debut “Scream!” via Steelheart Records and thankfully do not follow in the footsteps of RHAPSODY, VISION DIVINE, DERDIAN etc., but are firmly rooted to the ground. Singer Antonio Pecere has a nicely powerful, not too high voice and thankfully he also does not have a strong accent, as so many southerners, while the guitar duo Fiorani/Poliani delivers good, sharp riffing with good melodies. The songs nicely vary in-between each other, so they do not fall into the usual trap of the Power/Speed bands, this being one-dimensionality, even though they mostly cannot compete with the big guns yet. ”

“Nope, the blueprints for this style of metal years ago already have been drawn by the likes of Iron Maiden and Helloween, and Rapid Fire does not really seem to be willing to stroll to far away from familiar paths. So what does this actually mean? Well, there is enough variation betweens the songs when it comes down to speed and atmosphere, we are dealing with a decent singer who knows all the right moves (and does not suffer from a annoying accent), the guitars sound nicely fierce and they know who to write a nice melody line or two. Add to that a good production and the result is a pretty much cool album that probably will please a lot of power metal fanatics.”
