Bio
Prosad has spent the last three years inspiring audiences onto the dance floor with his mystical “Trance Sitar” grooves. After studying Classical Sitar both in Toronto and India, Prosad had a vision to fuse Classical Indian Sitar Ragas with electronic beats, live percussion, didgeridoo, flute and vocals. The result was “Trance Sitar”. It is both meditative and energizing at the same time. Listeners and dancers alike can feel the “calm center” created by the meditative sitar, while moving at a whirlwind pace to the dance beats created by the band. The inner and outer meet and harmonize in this unique musical experience. In 2008 Prosad's song “Byron Bay” was used in the Hollywood movie “The Love Guru,” starring the great Mike Myers.

The Journey From a Rocking a Guitar to Plucking a Sitar Prosad knew that he wanted to be a musician since he was 13 years old. Born and raised in the prairies (
He didn’t know it at the time, but this would change his life forever. He instantly fell in love with the mystical and hypnotic sound of the instrument and began to study faithfully. At first he believed Indian Music would only ever be a hobby, but as time went on it became obvious that he had an affinity for the instrument and people began to take notice. Soon, he was playing more concerts on sitar than guitar. Like George Harrison before him (one of Prosad’s musical mentors), he went from rock music to Indian music. “I feel like I am picking up where he left off. He was such an inspiration to me. I hope that one day I will be able to take this East West fusion of Indian music with Western music to a whole new level. I want to take it to places where the previous generation wouldn’t have dreamed of”.
Inspired by George Harrison, and drawing from his studies in Western Classical and Jazz music, Prosad fuses Eastern and Western traditions into a new style that he calls "Trance-Sitar".
Learning from the Masters
Currently, Prosad is studying music and its effect on consciousness from his spiritual teacher, Mr. Tulshi Sen. Learning music from this true spiritual master has changed his perception of sound and music forever. He is now seeking to create music that will uplift and raise the consciousness of the listener simply by experiencing its powerful vibration.
