Pink Punk is an electronic/ rock/ hip hop project fronted by Ireland’s politically outspoken Yap, guitarist Massy, vocalist Donna Williams and produced by John Hendicott.

Yap and Massy were both former members of One Minutes Silence, voted best “British Live Act” in Kerrang magazine, and with Pink Punk they have reunited to bring their ultra high energy to the stage once again.

The new single “Rockstars” taken from their second album Zombie God Delicious, is a catchy stomper of hip hop, dirty electronica and slam poetry. Vocalist Yap combines infectious hooks delivered with slick poetic flow and passionate conviction while guest vocals appear courtesy of Kate Tempest, whose fans include Roots Manuva and Scroobius Pip, he described Kate’s session on Radio 1s Colin Murray show as a highlight of his listening year. Track 3: “End Times” showcases Kate’s exciting jazz hip hop band: The Sound Of Rum who recently sessioned on 6 music.

Both “Rockstars” and acoustic B-side “Calling Time” are taken from the current album, which also features the voice of Bill Hicks in the track “Advertising”. This is the first time Bill Hicks family have licensed the use of his voice in a product other than his own and the band are donating all revenues from the sale of this track to the Bill Hicks Foundation For Wildlife Rehabilitation.

Previous radio airplay support for Pink Punk and their furious Tech Itch and Reso remixes of “One More For The Road” has come from Radio 1s Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, Annie Mac, BBC 1xtra, BBC Raw Talent and Kiss FM

The live band are currently reworking tracks from both their albums, alongside some new material, creating a multi-level experience of metal brutality, dance euphoria and topical poetry against a backdrop of visuals further pushing the bands style-fusing boundaries.

“The most exciting artist in UK hip hop…simply outstanding”-Eddie Thomas: Subba-cultcha

“The soundtrack for the current world … inspirational - Darren Sadler: Rocksound
