Local musicians will recreate the sounds of the 1960s on Saturday, November 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m at the Island Music Center on Bainbridge. All profits go to Helpline House. Bainbridge Island, WA, November 12— Virtuoso guitarist, singer, and songwriter Peter Spencer and his band will join the Julie Duke Band and Chele’s Kitchen at Turkeystock: A Thanksgiving Tribute to the Tunes of the 1960s. The three Kitsap county bands will reinvent and pay tribute to the groundbreaking sounds of the 1960s in the spirit of that storied, stoned era to raise funds for a good cause. All proceeds will go to Helpline House, the Bainbridge Island non-profit agency that provides a full range of services for Kitsap county residents. Peter appears side-by-side with Yellowtail Records artist Matt Price for an evening of song swapping and discussion. On the bill for the evening's discussion, the fine art of writing and playing folk blues and the the joys and perils of said occupation.
Peter opens this event with a solo acoustic blues set. This will be followed by swamp/funk stalwarts The Excellos with Peter sitting in on their set playing electric lead guitar on their atmospheric, and often spooky songs. The evening concluding with a set courtesy of the Julie Duke Band.
