1 Peter 2:9

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a PECULIAR PEOPLE; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light..."

 We have been called out of the darkness by the King of Kingz, the Alpha and Omega, our one and only purpose for living, JESUS CHRIST. And we CAN NOTand WILL NOT stop as we spread the TRUTH to this dying and starving generation.

Peculiar People has been playing in churches, schools, and clubs in and outside of the Washington, DC metro area since November of 2003. The group includes a very diverse group of young men assembled from different backgrounds, churches, and schools. It started with 3 college freshman Lamon (LiL TwiN), Stephon (Sandman), and Aaron (Hope) who began their search for musicians that shared the same passion for Christ, urban ministry, and music. Dave (Supa Dave) was next to come onboard. Then twins met Jessie (J) at Bowie State University where Jessie was in his dorm room blasting Submission Band (one of the band's major influences). Jessie recruited his friends Torrey, Andre, Jawhon and Nick (Casio) to start the beginnings of the Total Praise Band (T.P.B.). During this time, Andre (Dre) also joined T.P.B. As the band matured, Jessie (J) took on the role as manager, other people left for college and others needed a break. After a one year hiatus, Total Praise Band regrouped and gained members Isaac (BLU), Cliff (WarChild), and Brandon (Chavo). By the summer of 2006 T.P.B. had changed so much that a new name was needed. Thus the name Peculiar People. Since the name change, Peculiar People gained 2 new members, Randy (BUFF) and Debbie, which now brings the total to 11 band members.
