The first new one, from the new trio, Worn Out West, is called, Great American Opera. Worn Out West is paulsprawl plus Heiko Schramm on bass and Matthias Macht on drums. Heiko and Matthias were cohorts of the late and great Chris Whitley on many recordings and tours.

The other new cd for 2009 is paulsprawl live, his first live recording. This one is from a show in Prattville, Alabama on June 15, 2009. It includes versions of songs from four of his cds (Blue Suitcase, Lucky Hand, Army of Dreamers, Great American Opera), plus two new preiously unreleased songs. 13 songs in all and almost 74 minute of music.
