For the last 20 years Paul has been one of Florida’s best, and most elusive, singer-songwriters. With five awards from the Will McLean Foundation, including first place in 2000 for his tune “The Creek” and selection as a finalist in the South Florida Folk Festival’s national songwriting competition, Paul has earned a reputation as a Florida original. His music includes pure contemporary folk and Americana with a hint of bluegrass thrown in just for kicks. Drew Blackwell is from the Mississippi town of Macon. His mother is a gifted pianist and he and his sisters all have a ear for music and can sing!! He started learning his way around the guitar at the young age of 14, influenced by his Uncle Doug, and mentored and inspired to write and feel the blues by the great Willie King. King was a blues man born in Praire Point, MS. Drew along with his good friend and fellow artist Caleb Childs began The Old Memphis Kings in 2004. They have since continued to share the soul behind the blues king that brought them together. Courtney grew up in Wa state and comes from a musically gifted family, at the age of 4 she was taught and began taking lessons in classical cello by Dr Wharton, a cello/bass professor at the University of Idaho. She would say her mother was most influential in her progressing in technic, tone and ear training. Practicing with her every day. In the past 3 years, since moving to the south. she has really focused on changing the way the cello is used in ensembles , now she prefers folk, blues, and bluegrass styles and has really refined her playing to allow herself to sing while performing.
