"…But I will celebrate you! For those who also want to celebrate but want to avoid the amateur parade, I have a St. Patty’s Day alternative: The THIN LIZZY TRIBUTE at Will’s Pub. It’s organized by dope local blog www.OrlandoMusicNews.com (aka, OW music contributor Jason Ferguson) so it’s stacked with musicians and the cheap cover charge goes toward relief in Japan. Now you have plans. You’re welcome!" Featured acts: Bithlo Rising The Ludes Potsie Lone Hymnal Hot Mouth The Actomatics Eugene Snowden Bobby Koelble Shwill Patrick Scott Barnes (spoken word) + special guests
"Steve Garron (Precious) + Erin Nolan (Little Debbies) + Dana Fasano (Cotton Candy Cookies & Cream) = Potsie. A very estimable music critic (me!) said this about them: “Imagine your favorite power trio took the wrong medication and got all twitchy and angular and explosive and psychedelic, all at the same time.” And I still totally stand by those words from 36 days ago. “Ballyhoo” is the second track they’ve released so far, and it’s a doozy. Rock out, y’all. Listen to it here for free, then go give the band a buck to own it."
"Potsie opened and for a new band were sonically cool, catchy and fast paced. By reference I'd have a list of 90's snotty rock bands a mile long ready to go. Dare I say a cross the bigness of Smashing Pumpkins and Marcy Playground? Mostly, Potsie sounds like a continuation of Precious, that guitarist/vocalist Steve Garron headed in the alternative Orlando late 1990's. A trio by design Steve Garron is backed with bassist Erin Nolan (The Little Debbies, Black Noise) and Dana Fasano (Cotton Candy Cookies and Cream) on drums."
"We’ve told you about Potsie, right? The new band with Steve Garron (Precious), Erin Nolan (Little Debbies), and Dana Fasano (Cotton Candy Cookies & Cream)? Yes, we have. And even if we hadn’t, they’re playing a shit-ton of gigs around town, so you’ve got little excuse to have missed them. Anyway, they are a rock ‘n’ roll band, but they’re also a pretty odd rock ‘n’ roll band. Imagine your favorite power trio took the wrong medication and got all twitchy and angular and explosive and psychedelic, all at the same time. Yeah, that kind of odd. Don’t believe me? Well, they’ve got a new song ready for you to listen to – and buy – so, perhaps you should do that, and see for yourself. “Drakkar Noir” is available on Bandcamp for one tiny dollar. Also, if you’ve missed one of those shit-ton of gigs, your next chance to catch the band will be Thursday, Jan. 20 at Will’s, with Rabbit Rabbit." — Jason Ferguson (1/12/2001 - Orlando Weekly blog)
"Festing in DeLand, too Aside from the bands, I'm partial to the DeLand Original Music Festival because it's an excuse to amble the quaint, New England-esque streets of downtown DeLand. It's just a bonus that on Saturday this 10th annual event will populate the business district with more than 120 local and regional acts that cover genres such as bluegrass, ska, blues, jazz, hip-hop and metal, among others. It's quite a roster, which you can check out at http://www.ssa.cc, and it includes a generous representation of Orlando club fixtures such as Potsie, The Broken Inn, Chopper Stepe, The Actomatics, Rug and Rickey Dickens and the Revival."
