“After Dougy Mandagi, lead singer of Temper Trap, the Flyafter discovered in Indonesia, a band of natural capital, Jakarta. Are formed by Hannan Jaya Mahardika voice and acoustic guitar, synthesizer and the Luandri Rully Rully Fahrezzy also on vocals and electric guitar. The PS Today I'm With You was released on February 20th through the label, Swedish 23 Seconds. Similarly to their previous, self-titled issue the recent one is filled in with astonishing growings and transitions, more detailly, operating with traditional indie pop impetus and blissful horizons of chillwave/poptronica/glo-fi music, all in all, creating a kind of irresistible touch for ardent indie people. In a more technical language does it mean the change drifts toward a spot on drum machines, sequencers and synths. By the way, you can take the first EP and add it over to this one, thereafter getting a proper LP and more listen times. But it is just a hypothesis.

“The pop of Jakarta trio Flyafter is very playful and percussive, but with a hint of moodiness, especially in the vocals. "Today I'm With You" enchances the percussive element, but the vocals sound as dreamy as ever.”

“Flyafter’s Extended Play was the release I sought out among the label’s many releases, largely because of the art on the cover. An Indonesian band, Flyafter has a decisively mainstream feel, featuring strong synth melodies and a deep appreciation for strong hooks. In many ways, the familiarity plays to the band’s advantage, providing a real alternative to top-40 pop. This is a release that feels a lot like where Ben Gibbard might go given the opportunity to incorporate more synth-like experimentation into Death Cab for Cutie. This is to say that there are some very strong moments on this 25-minute EP, although there is little here that will feel unfamiliar. The band’s remix of Sigur Ros’ “Njósnavélin” was an unexpected surprise, as well as the strong acoustic sound of “Sleep Beside Me;” however, there isn’t anything groundbreaking in the mix, just strong execution of pop song craft.”
