“The collective character of "Cartoon Hero" is brought into being not so much by the vocals but the "supporting players" of guitar and rhythm section. The guitar and bass are the buddy characters of this particular comic, playing off each other like henchmen constantly on the move from one caper to the next. The bass, in particular, has an "always-on-the-move" air to it, with the occasional shiny, new-sounding string coming to the forefront of the mix.”
