Ajax Ray O'vaque / Press

“The alter-ego of superstar producer Anthony J. Resta, as Ray O’Vaque he brings his unorthodox recording techniques into a multitude of sounds from the ’60s on and genres as timeless as New Wave and prog-rock. Certainly experimental, but never to the point of alienating the listener, it’s both breezy and rigid, cosmic and organic, and no two songs really sound that similar. From soaring rock with psyche undertones to calmer, atmospheric layers, there is something for everyone in this precise and accomplished album. (Tom Haugen)”

“The Canadian multimusician/producer Anthony J Resta has worked with Award winning artists like Duran Duran, Collective Soul and Elton John. "Dreaming in subtitles" is the 2nd album under his alter ego Ajax Ray O´Vaque, the first "The critically forgotten demos of Saturn" was released in 2009. It´s really hard to describe his music, there´s a little bit of everything here from new wave to arcade music, and 60´s pop to 90´s indie rock or why not just call it spacepop? This is what you get if Brian Wilson would collaborate with Babylon Zoo while they were listening to U2´s "Zooropa" all day long. But it could also be the result of Brian Eno producing Fountains of Wayne if Todd Rundgren was their new lead singer. "Dreaming in subtitles" is an uber-cool album where I have many favorite songs, but right now I´d like to spin "Best days of our lives", "Calling all galaxies" and "Cute girl" over and over again.”

“A very talented artist's musical discovery has a central thread to neo-beat-era sensibilities. He sings too, and rather well, in a laid-back, post-indie style"”

“This is without a doubt the best work of any kind I have heard in a year. (But then you know me... I dip my newspaper in my coffee and eat it for breakfast)... © StarVoice ”

“Ajax, (producer/multinstrumentalist for duran duran, elton john, collective soul, needtobreath, etc.) either on a mission to push the boundaries of music and our pre-conceptions of what we perceive it to be, or on a glorious cocktail of drugs, which, to be frank, I would be extremely interested in.”

“ THEROCKMONSTER - Concord, TN 10/22/2008 4:53 AM ajax has been way ahead of his time musically for years, i think now is the time to put ajax's work in your collection because he is the next brian eno and didn't you feel like a fool when someone had eno's tunes before you did”
