“4 star review in the National R2 Music Magazine. "Ever get the Sense that you're in the wrong place, that you don't belong where you were made, body and soul? Take Judith Jones. She might be from Cumbria in the North of England, but this woman's all-American. "Under Orion's Stare" could have been cut by any of Judith's heroines. Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks or Lucinda Williams. Yep, it's that good. Of course her co-writer and guitar man, Rod Godwin deserves an equal share of the credit for a collection that pulls together rock, country and blues (with no little soul) strands into a hugely enjoyable whole. while Jones's voice dominates, Godwin's no slouch in the vocals department either, with " One Hand" being a particular favourite in this parish. Jones manages to sound both virginal and dirty - sometimes in the same song ("Wrong Girl Wrong") - and always entrancing, as on "Mississippi Flood", "You Need a Lover", "The Stillest Hour" and a mighty impressive reading of Joan Baez”
“This warmed the crowd up for The Judith Jones Band, who are starting to make quite a name for themselves. Main lady Judith’s powerful bluesy voice was aptly supported by a strong group of musicians who display great versatility individually as well as playing as a tight unit.”
"Judith Jones returns to Rosehill as a firm favourite and friend. Warmly received on a recent road trip across America, Judith sang in small blues clubs, outdoor venues and at the world famous Nashville of the North, Buck Lake Ranch. (Other artists that have graced this stage include Dolly Parton, Johnny cash and Elvis Presley). The American influences throughout Judith's music add authenticity and swagger to old classics and original compositions alike, creating an odyssey of blues, southern rock and west cost harmonies. "if the Judith Jones Band was a drink, it would be smooth bourbon, intoxicating, fiery with a hint of spice"
“Oh definitely 5 stars author: John McCann This lady has such a smooth, beautiful voice it just captures your mind right into her songs. I recommend this music all with great enthusiasm. Rare to find such a captivating voice as hers.”
“LIVE music was never more livelier than last Friday night at Rosehill with Judith Jones and her band took to the stage. This was a dazzling performance of some of the best talents youll find along the west coast”
“West Cumbrian based Songwriter Judith Jones displays a penchant for southern flavoured Americana on her debut 12 track album.”
"Judith Jones is an awesome, AWESOME singer"
