“Open Wire swiftly grabbed everyone’s attention as they brought their own brand of Danzig-ish sounding original tunes to the stage and rocked the slowly building crowd relentlessly. The growling vocals of Matt Thies and Dan Wuensch’s guitar riffs were on fire throughout the tracks “Whiskey Kin” and “Naked Dreams”… with Phil Milligan puttin’ a hurtin’ on the skins and Eric LeRay thumpin’ the 4-string along in perfect time. These guys got it going on and were the perfect beginning to a tremendous night of righteous jams”
“It was obvious that this band is very comfortable together, with all members actively headbanging and engaging the audience. ... Open Wire is a cohesive unit and it’s surprising that they’ve only been together since 2011. Thies led the band and the audience through a raucous set that produced some of the heaviest songs of the night. Wescotty performed killer guitar work while the audience pressed up against the stage and lifted their beers in the air.”
“Take everything you love about Zakk Wylde, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Black Sabbath, and Lynyrd Skynyrd and now you have an idea of what to expect when pressing play on their newest album Naked Dreams.”
"A quartet of Rock 'N' Rollers, mostly influenced by the classic music of yesteryear, that has evolved into a raw, gritty, swanky form of Rock "n" Blues."
“Open Wire is not merely a good music act, either. The comaraderie of these musicians and their flare for the stage lead to an event not to be missed. ”
“Balance is as much a part of the band’s entire concept as is rock ‘n’ roll. They perform a combination of blues, classic rock and modern metal that leaves each of them grasping at ways to describe it. The members throw out words like “aggressive,” “experimental” and “risky.” Though Milligan urges the use of “swank” as a title for their genre, they all attest that no other band in town plays as they do. “What holds our sound together isn’t so much sound as much as style,” Brantley asserts. ”
