“Whatever else happens, there will be no better song titles Thursday night than those by Little Rock's The Talking Liberties, whose latest EP, "Don't Trust the Humans," includes tracks with names like "Between Some Lions" and, incredibly, "Paul Reubens Holding Wasps." The band, fronted by trippy-synth mastermind Wes Acklin, specializes in widescreen glow-stick rock indebted to MGMT or The Flaming Lips, and claims to exist "solely to groove your bones and melt your brain," a mission statement I don't think they mean to sound as threatening as it does.”
“I have a feeling Talking Liberties will really blossom into something great.”
“The singing was polished and really flawless. The songs sounded confident, like a pro and definitely marketable to the mainstream audience. The well-written lyrics were an added asset for the track as well. Not hard to market this kind of pleasurable music.”
“A great voice with a wonderful lilt that is cheerful, joyous, inspirational, heartfelt, sincere, and strong. With good lyrics that are interesting, upbeat, and charismatic, filled with energy, and live. The music wraps the whole things up nicely as this guy sings his heart and soul out to us. Each and every track is brilliant, entertaining, vibrant and has a good atmosphere on top. This makes you savor his voice and music (let alone lyrics) to the max.”
“Wow guys. What a beautiful, captivating, stirring, enchanting, magical, charming, wonderful album [Live From The Elementary School]. This is to really get into and truly enjoy. Love the guys vocals. A simply amazing voice that really brings this album and music together and gives it that magical edge and brilliance to set this album alight. I loved the atmosphere and what the guy can make you feel: like he is singing to just me in the audience or crowd. Even thou it via an album, he really gives me, that impression big time. Everything on this album is perfect. Music, vocals, lyrics and sound quality (let alone over all production). Very professional sounding to say the least. Brilliant album guys. Loved it. ”
