Aaron Heim / Press

“Blending country, rock and blues, Heim’s music draws from the modern and alt-country movements and songwriters like Whiskeytown’s Ryan Adams, whom he calls one of his biggest influences. “I’ve always strived to be that kind of artist,” he says. While being the frontman for a new country band is on the horizon for Heim, he thinks his straight-forward, roots-oriented style stands up as an acoustic set. Like he says, he’s “old school” anyway. “What you hear on the album is what I’m going to sound like live. ... I like to keep it very real when I perform,” he says. ”
