YOU SOUND FABULOUS! Rich Pulin Musical Family is ensconced in a picturesque tropical Swiss-Alps like setting in the foothills/mountains of Central America... Rich has made a commitment to the town council to avail himself for teaching the schoolchildren music.....because this is a latin community, and because Rich had an extensive tenure in the latin-jazz field, highlighted by his Monterey Jazz Festival appearance in 1977, as trombone soloist, with The Tito Puente Big Band! Utilizing historical videos, in his collection, Rich will trace the 'courtship and eventual marriage of latin (afro-cuban origin) music with jazz...focusing on several 'high-priests' of those genre's at that time, such as Chano Pozo, Dizzy Gillespie, Machito, Ray Baretto (a little later) and the one and only "EL REY", THE KING, Tito Puente! There were many other innovator's! As an aside to the jazz/salsa-ed activities, The RPMF will sponsor concerts featuring well-known American & International artists to benefit the jazz/salsa-ed program! On the 23rd, RPMF played a concert at a local restaurant to a very appreciative full-house! A serious latin-jazz-studio pianist/keyboardist, would do exceptionally well here at this time......only players that are extensively represented on recordings should inquire... More news SOON! RPMF PS: Brooke's long awaited 'Brazilian Jewel', "RIO DE JANEIRO"(written by Rich Pulin, formerly of Tito Puente's band), receives its International debut on REVERBNATION!........plus some of her other well-recognized song-mainstays! http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/3606391 Please Enjoy! rpm
