"You sure you wanna do this" broke my heart and made me cry when I listened to it. The lyrics are killing, your singing is beautiful and haunting, the arrangement is so raw. It lays bare the poignancy of the song. Good job. And, you're from Providence, no less. Me too! I'd love to collaborate.
Gosh, Debra. Crying. If I happen to cry while writing, I know I'm getting at something true. Most instances when someone cries from a song I've performed, it means I had done my work, meaning to help other people have some sort of a catharsis, relief from stress and/or healing.
It would be an honor and I would like to collaborate with you, also. I wrote a jazz song 'if you were you' with Joe Parillo (let me know and I could e-mail or soundcloud an mp3 of this song to you). And I have collaborated with other professional musicians and songwriters. How would you like to start? Writing lyrics, composing a melody, a comp?
