Band of the week on sunday night music club. Check out the Sarah Champion / Absolute Radio interview here - http://unsignedbandreview.com/the-midnight-rambler.html
Here's the interview:
How first get into playing music?
Playing drums in my school rock band - Love Or Confusion. I played kinda like Animal from the Muppets. Lots of Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, that kinda thing...
"Heavy Blues. Heavy, Heavy Blues. With Muppets."
How long have you been playing?
Guitar; at least 10 years or more. Singing; ....hmm... I guess howling away since birth!
How would you describe your sound in one sentence?
Heavy Blues. Heavy Heavy Blues. With Muppets.
What makes you unique?
Solid musicianship first, then sacrificing it all for energy and showmanship. And just being upfront and totally unlike math rock/emo/ glee, etc. And truly liking your own music and getting off on it instead if being worthy and knowing.
If I hear another math rock rock band with great hair doing stop-starty songs I will throw my toys from the pram.
I'll wear a mexican wrestling helmet one night, and not the next. Actually be suprising for your audience, treat them like a lover. Any good relationship needs work. I'm digressing now though.
What are your goals at the moment?
Finishing the album and scoring a tour and distribution.
What are your main musical inspirations?
To play awesomely with energy whilst looking like we don't care. We're there most of the time :)
"I'll wear a mexican wrestling helmet one night, and not the next. Actually be suprising for your audience, treat them like a lover."
If you had to listen to one album for the rest of your life what would it be?
The more I think about how to answer this question... the further I get from making a decision. May I never have to listen to one album for the rest of my life.I'd choose nothing. Ok..ok.. uhm. Morphine - Cure For Pain. Dig it up.
What do you get up to when you’re not making music?
Sleep. Go online. Sleep.Travel. To H'america.
What do you think of Unsigned Band Review?
Bands need all the help they can get so keep doing what you're doing. It's all to the good.
Thanks for being part of Music Xray and keep the music coming. Good luck with the opportunities available for your music we hope there is a match. Let us know if you need any help!
