Our fantastic NEW ALBUM "Mesherlek" is AVAILABLE on CD NOW, direct from us at www.penguinparty.bandcamp,com 1 week before the official launch. If you've pre-ordered, we'll start shipping 'em out tomorrow! The box-set version is a numbered edition, so order now for a nice low number!
"the album that will burrow inside your noggin and stay there through the coming spring....these classics point to Mesherlek being one of 2014′s greatest recorded triumphs" - Pure Pop Radio
" a satisfyingly curious collection of skewed rock gems...Some might call it Penguin Party’s grown-up album, but adulthood has neither dulled the band’s sharp edges nor stifled their desire to cock a snoot at the absurdities of modern life and modern love" - Danny Scott

We at Sitting Target Music are shocked and saddened today to learn of the untimely death of Andy Ropek, founder of The Icarus Club, which has been a beautiful place for acoustic acts to play to an appreciative audience since May 2007. Andy was such an enthusiast, a gentleman, and he wore a hat with great aplomb...
He has been hugely supportive of Sitting Target's Nicola Harrison & John Aldingon, who played at both the Icarus's pub and Blackheath Halls venues.
He is a huge loss to London's music scene. A proper, dedicated, decent promoter with impeccable taste and indefatigable love of great music.
He will be sorely missed.

A copy of Sounds Of Salvation, an ultra rare and sought-after 1974 psychadaelic folk album featuring a teenaged John Aldington, has surfaced on the blog of rare records crate digger Mr Evergreen Winterman:
http://thesoundofsalvation.blogspot.com/
"it ranges from a long introduction of sound collages depicting everyday life (strangely akin to the KLF's Chill out album), through a very dark Psychedelic track "Overseers", then through prayers, acid folk & twisted rock. " writes Mr Winterton.
"It really does need to be listened to in it's entirity as it does flow despite the strange marrying of styles.
The female voices are particulary strong, along with some superb guitar work, (that'll be our John Aldington- Ed) especially in the more acid moments. What manages to really make this work for me are the arrangements, they are very different from traditional arrangements, and that makes for a refreshing listen."
