Rocklahoma Update

Every interview The Hawkeyes did at Rocklahoma was met with, "You're from where" and "You drove how many hours" ???

We drove +16hrs (1009 miles) ONE WAY to play 40 minutes and everyone asks, "Was it worth it"? HELL YEAH! It's ROCKLAHOMA!!!!. When they call and ask if you want to play, you just answer "when?" & "where?"

The entire crew from Axis Ent were great! Thanks to Sunshine, Shawna, David, Joebob, Dean, and ___, and ___, and ___ for all your hospitality and help.

Everyone at Rocklahoma treated us like VIPs and we could not have had a better time (well, hanging out with Megadeth would have been cool but we were getting our laminates & passes during their set)

SATURDAY MAY 26 /// 2am: The Hawkeyes leave Pittsburgh // 7am: we leave Cincinnati with The Hawkeyes // 11am: Stop off in Terra Haute Guitar Center to get new cables, snare head, and strings. Ate at Denny's, gassed up & headed back out // 830p: Arrive in Pryor Oklahoma // 9:00p: Check in at Rocklahoma, get credentials // 9:30p: while getting settled in can hear Megadeth KILLING it! Our stage manager asks if anyone wants to catch Rob Zombie // 10:30p: 5th row for Rob Zombie // Midnite: Cruising the campgrounds & talking to people / passing out download cards / networking

SUNDAY MAY 27 /// 4am: Bedtime // 7am: Woke Up & walked the grounds - very quiet at that time of the morning // 9am: Showered & ate // Noon: Load In at the Axis Entertainment Stage // 2pm: The Hawkeyes go on (KILLED!) // 2:30: Eddie Trunk & HDNet Concerts stop by to broadcast part of the Hawkeyes set - got to give him a copy of The Hawkeyes EP and The Mighty Swine's new Video (LUST) Said he really liked the Hawkeyes set // 3:15: Media Tent for interviews with Holly (No Cover TV) Luie & Bobby Wild of The Afternoon Buzzsaw (99.9 KWKR) Helen & Shannon from I Heart Robot, Jennifer from Stage Shots, Rock Audio.com, and Eddie Trunk. Got to watch Black Stone Cherry & Vinnie Paul interview & do photo shoot - great bunch of guys!!!! // 4:15: Off to Radio Row to do live on air broadcast with Lenny the Rock Lizard (103.9) Kevin Dean (105.1) + Critter (Z94) // 530: Load Out // 6:00: Hit the Road

MONDAY MAY 28 /// 8am: Got dropped back off in Cincinnati // 1pm: Hawkeyes get back in Pittsburgh

Just wanted to note that while we stopped off at Guitar Center in Terra Haute for gear; we got the wrong sized snare head & left the bass strings somewhere so had to borrow bass from David Castro Band (Thanks guys) and luckily didnt need the snare head (autographed & sold for gas $$)

I Strongly URGE EVERYONE to attend Rocklahoma 2013 - So many great bands - lots of fun in the sun, 20,000+ people all camping out & partying all night (didnt see one fight or arrest).

Cory S. - Maybe next time you'll be able to meet up with us as we miised ya dude!

One Pretty Minute

Broad Horizon Records, Inc. is pleased to announce that One Pretty Minute has joined the Broad Horizon Records, Inc. family.

After months of discussions, Broad Horizon Records, Inc. signs Columbus, Ohio natives, One Pretty Minute to a distribution deal for their upcoming release entitled Addict (available June 5, 2012) which proves to be a smart move for both parties.

Formed in 2008, One Pretty Minute solidified its line-up in 2009 and began a relentless climb to become one of the hardest working bands in the Columbus music scene.

From their modest beginnings as a club band playing to anyone that would listen, OPM, as they are commonly known, have become one of the most called upon support acts for nationally touring bands such as All That Remains, Powerman5000, Taproot, Egypt Central, Trust Company, and Eye Empire to name a few.

Driven by anger, lies, and deception, One Pretty Minute presents emotional and powerful content backed by driving and aggressive arrangements of active rock. Their debut EP The System, released on MyPixo Records in the spring of 2011 sold out in a matter of weeks (although still available for digital download from iTunes and CDBaby). This was great accomplishment for the band, and a testament to the non-stop work ethic and support of their fans and only inspired the band to forge ahead with writing new songs while perfecting their live show.

Featuring David Adams, Bill Morales, Jeffrey Tayama, and Andy Kuhar, One Pretty Minute found itself becoming Columbus, Ohio’s most talked about export in years and were excitedly looking forward to going back into the studio. Unfortunately, fate would find the band parting ways with MyPixo Records towards the end of 2011 and One Pretty Minute found itself without a label (but plenty of new music to be recorded). Not to be discouraged, the band entered the studio early 2012 to begin work on their sophomore project and began soliciting new labels.

Talks began with BHR Director of Operations, Bob Lung after a mutual friend put them in touch. “We had been watching some of the other bands on the label and liked what we were seeing. We heard that Broad Horizon gave a lot of creative freedom to the bands and we knew that they were backed with years of experience and support, which is exactly what we were looking for” – Bill Morales, Bass/Vocals.

Several months later and both camps came to an agreement that made sense for everyone involved. “We were looking to expand our roster and had several artists on the horizon, but OPM came highly recommended and after some researching and discussions, we felt like they would be a perfect fit for our organization” – Bob Lung, Director of Operations, BHR, Inc.

OPM recently finished recording their 2nd EP entitled Addict and will made available to the public via Broad Horizon Records as of June 5, 2012.

Featuring 6 brand new songs including Hurt You, Carry Me, and Addict, OPM continues to grow as a band and as individual artists.

You can pick up a limited edition hard copy at their CD Release party June 8 at O’Sheckys LIVE (6240 Busch Blvd, Columbus, OH, 43229 8pm 18+) as they are sure to sell out as well.

It will also be available for online distribution at sites like iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, eMusic, Rhapsody, Spotify, and more. Look for Addict to appear on Touchtunes Jukeboxes nationwide with support tour to follow.
