Summer 2012

We've got a great Southwest Tour coming up, starting August 20th in Durango and finishing August 31 in Santa Fe. We'll be traveling through Telluride, and Salida, Colorado, then dipping into New Mexico to Santa Fe, down to Tubac, Arizona, up to Prescott, and Flagstaff, then down to Pinos Altos, New Mexico, and Las Cruces and back up to Santa Fe.

After that we'll be back in California to play a variety of great shows, with the Backcountry Bluegrass Festival in Truckee, the Millpond Music Festival in Bishop, and some tour dates around the state through the end of September and beginning of October.

We've got some new songs, to complement our mix of traditional and original music supported by two albums currently available from our website, iTunes and streaming on Pandora....

On Tour

The Road is Long and Winding and Really Fun...(most of the time.) See you along the way. D & S

4 weeks and counting...

The Tour is Coming!!!! And we still have to record our album... And sharon's buying more banjos as we speak... oh boy.

We recently found out we were selected as the Folk Alley Open Mic Artist of the Month for August. So Hooray for that! If you haven't checked out FolkAlley.org you really should, it's a great website of independent folk music, with a fun setup for an online "open mic" as well as live streaming of things like the Newport Folk Festival.

Anyways, Oregon was a blast, along the way we stopped in Shasta at the Billy Goat Tavern and had another fun night performing for our friends there.... Then Dave got his bow rehaired by a great violin maker / musician in Phoenix, Oregon named John Hill who you can find here on Reverb Nation. We arrived up in Corvallis for our friends wedding and jammed music every night, the bride and groom are great musicians and good friends, and we were all up playing till 3:30am... Then we hauled it on back home and headed straight for the San Francisco Bay to shop for banjos (and surfboards) and soon we'll return home and hole up in a high lonesome cabin very quiet and superb and record our next album...

And yes, the Tour is Coming!!! oh my god.. summer just flew by... we just booked a show in Portland, Maine so we'll be in MAINE!!! And we're on the verge of confirming a gig in Lexington Kentucky, so Hooray for that... to play in the home of Straight Kentucky Bourbon is a true honor...

And besides all that September looks relatively busy with gigs, parties, volunteering at the local music fest, and then moving out - packing everything into storage and hitting the road for three months, then Baja for another three... whoa..

Can't wait to see you all along the way...

August is here...

Well... now that a bunch of shows have passed... we finally have time to catch our breath and focus on new music. We have a TON of new material to work up for both performing and recording. Almost too much really... I mean it's gets tough keeping 5 hours of material up to speed... but we're getting ready for a serious recording session in the coming weeks and then a mini-tour to Mt. Shasta and Corvalis, Oregon, and perhaps more if time allows...

Big U.S. Tour is coming so soon! Summer is flying by, and we'll be rolling down the road before you know it... SPREAD THE WORD... Glance at our schedule and please tell your friends about us. We'll be playing radio stations, festivals, breweries, pubs and coffeehouses with likely 40+ shows before we're done near Christmas.

New album will be released by Oct.1st... perhaps sooner if we're lucky. Lots of new original tunes, and a host of traditionals. Cheers! -Sharon and Dave, The Littlest Birds

Summer

Hey folks.. Wow, what a summer it's been, from unexpected surprises like performing at The Mountain Sage in Groveland (and sitting in with The Brothers Comatose), to getting accepted into Pandora (to begin streaming soon), to playing the best venue in our area - The Mobil Mart in Lee Vining in front of 150 people, to booking booking booking our Fall Tour which is getting HUGE... please check out our complete schedule to see where we'll be... And there's even more shows on the way...

Soon we'll begin work on our new album, as we have written several new songs, and learned several new traditional tunes as well.

We recently bought our own small PA to travel with this Fall so there won't be any more loud yelling bar shows (as fun as those were last Fall), you'll now be able to hear us better than ever.

The music thing appears to be rolling along nicely for us right now, sort of like the chard, tomatoes, potatoes and peas in our high alpine garden... the sun is warm, the music is outside, and we're pretty happy birds.... Hope to see you sometime soon.

And please continue to spread the word about our music. We'd love to meet your friends at our next show.

-Dave and Sharon

Spring / Early Summer

Hello from the nest!

It continues to snow in the Eastern Sierra of California, where us littlest of birds make our home. Spring comes and goes as we excitedly work on booking our Fall Tour. Beginning in October we'll travel out to New England and visit all of sharon's favorite hangouts and venues, performing as much as possible while making time to explore as well, as Dave's never been to most of New England. We'll slowly make our way south down the East Coast into Virginia and North Carolina before starting to head towards home, cutting across the southern states and playing a few finishing shows in the Southwest.

We also plan to record, master, and produce another album of original and traditional music due to release for our Fall Tour - Sharon's been writing some great songs lately.

Please visit our website http://www.littlestbirds.net Leave us a message in our guestbook, "like" us on Facebook, suggest us to your friends and give us some ideas for locations to visit this Fall.

Thanks so much! Dave and Sharon, The Littlest Birds
