On Saturday, July 23rd, I'm performing at The Key Club in Newark, NJ. The doors open at 7pm and I hit the stage at 8pm. Flutist/singer, Monet will be guest appearing and DJ Qua (from 98.7 FM) will spin for an after-party. Admission is $15 and the show will be a lot of fun!

Wow!!! What a fantastic weekend I had. My brother, sister-in-law, and nieces came to visit from Charlotte. My nieces, my mom, and I went to see Debbie Allen's "Twist" at the Alliance Theater on Saturday night. It was absolutely glorious. Matthew Johnson, former background singer for India.Arie, Lauren Hill, and Musiq Soulchild graced the stage with a powerful performance. He sang and "hoofed" for real ya'll. I was impressed!!! My main soul brotha, Joel Powell was in the orchestra pit holding it down on the bass. I saw my friend, Fhena in her glowing pregnant splendor. We went to church Sunday morning, then enjoyed brunch on my mom's deck eating grits, eggs, shrimp kabobs, sausage, corn on the cobb, fresh fruit, salads, ice cream...you get the picture. Family, fellowship, and good food. That's what I'm talking about.

A weekend with my family
