Reminder: Annual Brownstone Poets Anthology Celebration for 2025, Sat,12/6

You are invited to join us for our 2025 Annual Brownstone Poets Anthology Celebration on Zoom on Saturday, December 6, at 2 p.m. ET.

Since 2005, Brownstone Poets has been inspiring poetry in Brooklyn. We strive to be a unique and diverse community, welcoming various literary styles and forms. Our reading series is expanding via Zoom, reaching out to new voices across the U.S. and the world. We would like to thank this year’s 62 reader-contributors and our loyal attendees. Without their love and commitment, our reading series and this anthology would not have been possible. We’re honored to have the Georgian American poet David Dephy as our poet-in-residence and Susan Justiniano/ RescuePoetix as this year’s guest poet. This collection of poetry, infused with urban imagery, is our contribution to the vibrant spirit of Brooklyn and a worldwide community.

Please follow the directions below, completing both steps at least two days before the reading to avoid delays entering the meeting room. Note the order of the open mic follows the order of signup. Sign up early to read early in the program. Last-minute signup means you will read at the end of the program.

Austin Alexis (Pushcart Nominee, 2026)

Women Writers in Bloom, 11/23/25

What an afternoon of the divine feminine. We bloomed in words, friendship, and, of course, food! The latter came nonstop—all delicious! Thank you, JP Howard, for providing a safe space for us.

We opened our bodies through stretches, guided by the lovely Radhiyah Ayobami. We meditated, listened to our body parts, wrote how we felt, and shared our individual experiences. Some were funny, some were reflective, and others hit painful notes. A beautiful experience, and the rose oil worked wonders. With appreciation, Radhiyah, for your guidance.

I always love coming to Women Writers in Bloom’s workshops because we are not judged for our words but encouraged to explore the words within ourselves.

Happy Monday,

Trish oxoxo

Saving Ourselves: An Anthology Advocating for Women & Girls

Women’s rights are being eradicated. Since childhood, women are subjected to fear, gaslighting, and abuse. We have voices, and we won’t be silenced by the patriarchy. Thank you, Tammy Nuzzo-Morgan and her editorial team, Mary Rose Dougherty and Mindy Kronenberg, for publishing “Bésame Mucho” and “In Dreams” in this important anthology, Saving Ourselves: An Anthology Advocating for Women & Girls.
