Click --EZCODE LINK START--HERE --EZCODE LINK END-- to see it. below is the English translation provided by Andrea (thanks!) --EZCODE ITALIC START--"From the state of New York, Caroline Blue is a solid melodic hard-rock trio moved by classic inspiration taken from Kiss, but never figuring as a their cover band, and never as rakes and lack of personality. Indeed, Caroline Blue weight down the sound in phase of riffing, and run with a rythmical section aggressive and more powerful guaranteeing a precise trademark. "Slaves To The Hourglass" is their first studio work, a five tracks EP(more two hidden tracks that does not add a lot in matter of quality: an acoustic instrumental song, and a telephone call by Wayne while promoting the record), dynamic and spontaneous that let truly imagining a monstro attitude to the live show dimension(very large is the number of cover songs in their own catalogue). Title-track and "The Queen Of Pleasure", in this sense, express on the better way the concept of CB's "wall-of-sound". In auge for sure we have Wayne Johnson, vocalist, determined and visceral axe-man who drags all the compositions in a vortex made by electricity and sweat, in a certain way paying tribute to Paul Stanley, but able to communicate his own personality and rock'n'roll glamour. The producing, unfortunately, is not the best one. The sound is too much stuffed with wadding, and drums sounds too much like as in the '80, but i'm also speaking about a kind of autoproducing, and therefore lack of technology to "clean or modernize the sound". Anyway, are Caroline Blue the "next big thing"? They surely could be it. The potentialities does not lack, the same to say in fact of determination to assert themself(furious is the promotion on the web, so much organized and detailed). At last just a note to say that the band members signed on the cd credits are not same than actual(except Wayne), and therefore i do not know the effective quality of the new ones, but voices said that their recently live performances has been great. Then, what we have to do is to wait for the full-lenght record, but this Ep is a nice aperitif that open your stomach as well until that time." Appresial: 73/100 --EZCODE ITALIC END--

Slave to the Hourglass CD Review-Metal to Infinity (Belgium)

Hiya! We jusy got word of a great review of CAROLINE BLUE's CD "Slave to the Hourglass" from the website Metal to Infinity (Belgium). Click HERE to see the page or just read below! CAROLINE BLUE - SLAVE TO THE HOURGLASS INDEPENDENT METAL TO INFINITY Caroline Blue is a three piece band that is located in Syracuse, New York. Current line up is Josh Dean on drums, Johnny Sniper on bass, and mastermind Wayne W. Johnson is taking care of the lead vocals and guitars. All members have played in numerous bands before, so they could acquire experience a lot! The members on the picture of the CD are not the current members and did not play on this EP. The only reason why they were printed is because they were part of the line up at the time of the CD's release. It might be a bit confusing, but you can read all details on the bands homepage: http://www.carolineblue.com/. It was my first acquaintance with the band, and from the opener Slave To The Hourglass, there was a pop up in my head that directed me to Kiss their Paul Stanley. Not only the voice of Wayne is resembling, also the intonation, and the way he brings it on, refers to Kiss their front man. Musical wise, we hear great, solid but Melodic Hard Rock that will please a lot of fans that are into the old school 80's hair metal. The band shot a video for this title track, and also one for ''The Queen of Pleasure'', perchance my favorite tracks from the EP. Wayne holds the string tight, and whatever the line up is, he's the man that controls the band and the songs. So far, the band has a repertoire of more or less 20 songs, and a huge catalog of cover tracks. Does it surprise you that they cover about 15 Kiss tracks, but also Metallica, Godsmack, Black Sabbath, Halford, Iced Earth, Judas Priest, AC/DC... a.o. I have the feeling that this band is a real live act that knows what people like and know how to bring it down to the masses! The five songs on the EP are above the average what I've heard these months, and make me curious about the next material that is being recorded at Strangeland Audio Studios in Phoenix, NY. Scott Patnode is doing the producing/engineering, and the release is set for early 2007. Besides 12 songs, there might be a bonus or hidden track on the disc, but I do hope that the band will deliver upper class material than the 6 minutes acoustic track (track 6) that was hidden on this E.P. or the second hidden track (#13), which consists of a telephone call of a complaining of their landlord... Totally negligible and of no use at all...My rating: 80/100 This CD review was written by Patrick de Sloover on behalf of Metal To Infinity Webzine

11/2/06-Slave to the Hourglass CD Review-Oblivion.de (Germany)

CAROLINE BLUE's CD "Slave to the Hourglass" has just been reviewed on Oblivion.de in Germany. It can reached by clicking HERE Below is a transcript of the review in English (translated by Ela-thanks!)... This, what Wayne Johnson,Lead singer and Guitarist of the the Hard Rock Combo Caroline Blue send to me,is actually the Music taste and right up the alley of our Editor Steve. But because Steve has been running behind in reviewing his Import dealings,I thought I would take it up on myself to review this 5tracker plus a hidden track.Melodic Hard Rock is the trademark of these boys and with Influences from bands like Kiss,Motley Crue, and early Judas Priest ,the music is ideal also for the Classic Hard Rocker to give a listen to.Anybody that feels the need to really wanna rock out again would be well served by listening to this band. Kiss- and you can really hear it periodicly are definetly heard in their music and are known to be their Idols, where only in the distance will you identify a small amount of the dirty sound of Motley Crue. The whole thing is actually on the cool, easy going side.Pretty cool is the Track"Queen of pleasure" where the song is about money, gang bangs and a Pornostar, but the lyrics get repeated quite often during the song.About the written part of the songs there are really no Highpoints,so it makes this self released CD actually a very down to earth Melodic Hard Rock piece.Nothing huge, but nothing small either. In addition, Walter Scheurer's review from powermetal.de has found it's way to another German site at Underground Empire.com. Click HERE to check it out. A translation to this review has been posted in our earlier blog in regards to the powermetal.de review.....
