-Things went off pretty well for the most part. It's been awhile since we've done one of these 4 hour shows so there was some huffin & puffin coming from the stage at times. Outside of my voice cracking twice, I did ok. We had about 30-40 people walk thru the doors so it wasn't a huge crowd, but we had some wild people there. We also made some new friends here & met up with some old ones.

-There were some interesting moments. During "Cold Gin" Doc broke his low E string so while he was changing it, I broke into a solo acoustic version of "How You Remind Me." I haven't done that since I played solo @ The Checkpoint Tavern back in July 2008. After the show this one guy came up to me suggesting that, for future shows, we should do like 3-4 acoustic song section to break things up. Interesting....Joe kept disappearing into this one room thruout the night. Could it be that secret bondage room that is rumoured to be at Shamrocks? :) Doc had his handful w/ the lady in leather :) . As for me, I was talking to a beautiful woman when her boyfriend came up and started humping my leg-twice! Thankfully no pics captured this moment.

-We wish to thank Steve & Barbara ( and "B") for having us back at Shamrocks-we look forward to playing here again in the future. Also a huge thanks to all the people who came out in support of us-it's deeply appreciated. Now let's see if I can get the other 3 shows updated....

-Wow-what a wild time! Just got back from our show @ Hotel Adams & it went great! Let's get into this shall we?

-Believe it or not, I actually arrived at our practice place for load up a little early (!!!). The other guys were still there ahead of me though. It was raining a little at this point but the weather cleared up later on. We arrived at Hotel Adams around 1 or 2-plenty of time before we hit the stage at 4.

-We ran into some old friends here-including Cain and the drummer from 12 Gauge Apocalypse-who remembered being at a CB show 3-4 years ago-what a memory! There was bands both outside & inside all day long. Lots of bands playing heavy stuff, original stuff & covers.

-We loaded our gear in and started to get things set up. The sound guys did a pretty good job-I was told out front everything was heard well. I didn't hardly hear my guitar at all, but you make due. Could be cause the CB rhythm section plays so hard :)

-Here's the set list for this show

-Bad Girlfriend (Theory of a Deadman)
-Sober (Tool)
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Man in the Box (Alice in Chains)
-Deny
-T.N.T. (AC/DC)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)
-Pain
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Rock & Roll All Nite (KISS)
-Enter Sandman (Metallica)

-1st Encore-Seek & Destroy (Metallica)
-Extension-Nothing Will Satisfy You & Living Dead Girl (Rob Zombie)

-We received a very warm reception from the crowd that was here and had an awesome time! People were really getting into it and we had a pretty good sized crowd thru out the set. We were only suppose to play for 45 minutes, but the crowd wanted one more-so we gave it to them. In the middle of that song, the owner-Keith-went to my setlist and wrote that we could play for another 10-15 minutes! That's where the extension came from. Even after that, the crowd wanted another song, but we had to stop so the next band could go on. Fun thing is, the next band that was suppose to be up pulled a no show! Oh well...

-We did well overall I think-haven't watched the video playback yet. The power at this place was a little "dirty" so I wasn't as feedback-free as I would've liked. A few errors here & there, but I think we did good-and we certainly had enough people tell us after the show that we did well! Kinda funny, at one point, one of the guys in the crowd even jumped on stage and tried to sing a verse to one of the covers.

-Again, we had a great time and we already have another show booked there w/ Cain on Friday July 24. We're going on @ 9:30 & playing for 2 hours. I want to thank Keith & his family for having us here & taking a chance on us. Nice intro BTW (we came in on our learjet???) (HA!). And a huge thanks to all the people there who made us feel very welcomed there. We hope to see you all again (& bring a few friends!) there on the 24th. Pics up soon!

-Thanks for the comment MM! I've only been to the place once-to see the band of a friend of mine play-but that was years ago. I was looking forward to a place that has such a great history of rock bands.

-Things started off with me being late to the practice room. I know "what else is new? (Ha Ha), but earlier I was at a police checkpoint and thru that I found out that my front license plate was gone! Nice huh? So getting that all squared away before hitting the road took some time.

-Me, Doc & Mindy then got Joe and away we went. We arrived there early-we were the 1st band there. Since we were the 1st band playing, we were able to set up right on stage and get a good sound check. The sound guys there-I didn't get their names-were great & very helpful. We had a good mix onstage and people said we sounded great out front. I heard myself pretty well although I have never heard bass drums that thunderous! I mean holy crap-the vibrations actually knocked our banner off the front of the stage while we were sound checking.

-This was a 4 band show and, as such, we only had 40 minutes to play. We were told ahead of time that the other bands were playing all original so we followed suit-with 1 exception. here's the list

-I've Seen The Light Tonight
-Dead or Alive
-Slave to the Hourglass
-Won't Be Home Tonight
-Pain
-Mine,Mine,Mine
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)

-"Deny" was actually on the setlist as well but I totally forgot about it! I wasn't really looking at my list. Overall, I think we did good. There was a decent sized crowd here when we went on and we got a great response from them. That was great to see-especially since this is the 1st time that CB has ever played in the Albany area. I was a tad sloppy on "Ace of Spades"-cause with Doc singing that I can actually move! In the past I used to move around a lot more on stgae but now that I used the boost on my amp during solos, I can't be so carefree when moving. Plus with all the singing I now do, I can focus on the pitches and breathing more when I don't move as much. Maybe I need to get a new headset mic....

-Unfortunately, due tot he distance we had to travel, we really couldn't stay to watch the other bands. We did catch part of Coyle's set-they were on after us-and they sounded good. And, of course, Mr. Johnny Sniper was here & it was good to see him again. I made sure to promote him and his "sniper diapers" (thongs w/ his face on them) a few times onstage. Kinda like the old days :)

-After unloading gear, I didn't get back home till around 1 AM. To sum it up, we had a good time there & we look forward to playing in that area again in the future. Thanks to Nocturm, Coyle, Untaymed, the people & crew @ Northern Lights & Mr. Sniper for having us for this show and making things easy for us.

-Now I have to go to work :(

-Sorry I'm so late in getting the show review here-been busy w/ all sorts of stuff. Let's see what I can remember...

-We started off to Ogdensburg a little earlier than normal because we weren't 100% sure what time we were going on. The show was set up initially that we'd be going on with our 1st set at 5 PM and then our 2nd set at 7:30 PM. Then we were told we weren't going on till later, but nothing set so we decided to get there early just in case. We get there and we're told to go on at 5 so that's what we do. In fact, we didn't even really get a chance to change into our stage close-hence why we were wearing our street clothes in the 1st set. Here's what was played during our 1st set...

-Hard Life
-You've Got Another Thing Comin (Judas Priest)
-Detroit Rock City (KISS)
-I've Seen The Light Tonight
-Won't Be Home Tonight
-Man in the Box (Alice in Chains)
-Piece of Me (Skid Row)
-For Whom The Bell Tolls (Metallica)
-Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Living After Midnight (Judas Priest)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)
-Dirty Deeds (AC/DC)
-Cold Gin (KISS)
-Seek & Destroy (Metallica)

-For the most part people were outside eating food & partying while we played. The only exception to that was "Man in the Box"-some people came in and danced on that one. We finished up and got all cleaned up and ready for the 2nd set-which was now at 9:15 PM. This is what we played...

-Sex Type Thing (Stone Temple Pilots)
-Bulls on Parade (Rage Against The Machine)
-Wish (Nine Inch Nails)
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Welcome to the Fold (Filter)
-Christian Woman (Type O Negative)
-NIB (Black Sabbath)
-Scars (Papa Roach)
-Pain
-She Hates Me (Puddle of Mudd)
-Deny
-Rock & Roll All Nite (KISS)
-Mine, Mine, Mine
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Where The River Flows (Collective Soul)
-Living Dead Girl (Rob Zombie)
-Bad Girlfriend (Theory of a Deadman)
-Sober (Tool)
-Detroit Rock City (KISS)
-T.N.T. (AC/DC)
-Enter Sandman (Metallica)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)

-Things started out slow initially, but we started getting more of a crowd response as the set moved on As you can see, we've added a few new covers and more are on the way. The band was a little loose during both sets-but we managed to hang in there and get thru it all. During "Deny" Doc had his girlfriend-Mindy- come up to the stage & get hand cuffed to his mic stand. He had a huge grin on his face through out that song :)

-Cain went on after us and did a great set of covers. We ended up talking to the owner-Greg-a lot about future stuff. It was a good night overall. Even the hotel was a lot better this time around. The soap wasn't that mineral crap and they had a really good continental breakfast the next morning. One thing we did learn was that if we stop @ a Chinese store, do NOT let Joe buy Kimchi-cause he'll start eating it right in the van and we can't ventilate it fast enough! Hence one of Joe's new nicknames "Kimchi Joe" :)

-A huge thanks to all @ Boneshakers, 4th Coast Entertainment and Cain for having us here and a big thanks to all of our Fans, Friends & Freaks who were here in support. Hope to see everyone at our next show here on 7/25. Till then.....

Hiya!

-Here I am w/ another show recap! This time we were going towards the Western part of NY State-which, for some reason, we rarely venture into. This has to change. Anyway, CB was one of around 20 bands playing at this year's Finger Lakes Metalfest @ Donselaar's in Clyde,NY. We all climbed aboard The CAROLINE CARAVAN :) and arrived a lot sooner than we expected. We thought the show was outside, but they were all in the club. Cool-especially since the gabage dumpster outside the bar was pretty ripe (OUCH!).

-I have to say that things ran very smoothly while were were here. Usually the bands are running behind for one reason or another but we went on & off right when we were suppost to. There were venders there selling a lot of old rock/metal recordings. It was a cool atmosphere.

-The 1st band, Spire, was also from Syracuse. As per being 1st, you get stuck with the unpleasent duty of getting the bugs out of the PA while your playing. It was interesting to watch the bands who were ahead of us cause, in terms of style, we're light weight compared to the rest. We're more old school hard rock/metal. However, we weren't the 1st band to break the "cookie monster" mode so to speak, that was the band before us-Horse Face. These guys did a lot of old school stuff as well-so we didn't feel so alienated :) The 1st 2 bands were more modern metal-and very technical-which was cool to watch. We unfortunately couldn't stay long after we were done, but I'm sure the other bands did great as well.

-Here's our set list for the show

-Hard Life
-Slave to the Hourglass
-Love Me or Leave Me
-I've Seen the Light Tonight
-Seek & Destroy (Metallica)
-Dead or Alive
-Pain
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)

-It's been awhile since we've played that short of a set, but we wanted to make sure we didn't go over our time limit. It's also why "Nothing Will Satisfy You" wasn't in the set-I felt it would've taken me too long to tune down & up again (have to get a tuner pedal soon!).

-I think we did a good job. I was on edge cause I was rushing to get the gear up so I wasn't as relaxed as I would've preferred. The wiring in the building was old so there was a lot of hum going on. We received a much better reaction from the crowd than I expected. In fact, we almost ran out of sampler CDs again! As the set went on, people were getting more & more into us. I almost banged my head on the lights once. My guitar was louder in my monitor than my vocal. I should've said something, but I just soldiered on. It was over before I knew it. We had a lot of people coming up to us while were getting our gear off & saying we did a great job. I even got to sign one of the posters for a kid who had to be around 13-14 years old.

-Then we got in the CARAVAN and drove thru Nebraska (HA!) to get home. You can see some pics of our practice room in the PICS area. Check them out-some of them are just screaming for someone to caption them :)

-We want to thank Dave and all the people with him for making this a great experience for us. Special kudos to Brad for preventing Joe from sneaking bear out of the bar (check the pics-HA!). Thanks to Micheal & Joell for travvelling all that way to see & help us out. And a huge thanks to all the people at the Metalfest. We hope to see you all again very soon! Till next time....

5/14/09-New CD Reviews for "Not For The Innocent"

-It's been awhile since we've posted up some new CD reviews on CAROLINE BLUE's music-mainly cause the band has been busy on the live front and we've been reporting on that. But the band has been receiving some new reviews as of late and now it's time to share them with you!

-1st up is a great review from the Metal to Infinity Website based in Belgium. The link is http://mtibelgium.00freehost.com/CarolineblueCDreviewNotfortheinnocent.html and here's the review-word for word..

Time for some real American music, more specifically described as a mixture between Hard Rock and Heavy Metal played in a vintage, groovy way. By using 'the net', I stay in contact with Caroline Blue's mastermind Wayne W. Johnson during a few years now - each time a new work is ready to unleash he send a copy to review on Metal To Infinity webzine - thx a ton bro!

O, CB is not a stranger for our webzine... through an interview I had quite a while ago, Wayne told me about the early days of existence and plenty more... feel free to check it out right HERE. His favourite musician is Paul Stanley from Kiss fame and that is something he can't hide while doing his job as singer. On previous Caroline Blue releases, it was obvious all over who were the inspirations came from.

CAROLINE BLUE
CAROLINE BLUE  (over 14 years ago)

On the new album ''Not For The Innocent'', there is a progress noticeable - also, a big step in straight to originality is remarkable. Especially his vocal use on the new album is better than ever before to me... individuals never heard Wayne's before, well let me give it a try to describe as a blend of Paul Stanley (Kiss), Mat Barlow (Iced Earth) and a bit of Joey Belladonna from Anthrax. Take this for what it's worth ... always better to find out and make up your own mind you know! Big step forward concerning the vocal use, Wayne also takes control over all guitar and bass duties on ''NFTI'' which is actually an independent release. Pity for a great band like CB but that's the way it goes in the world of Rock and Metal nowadays. You know my vision about that case: sometimes unreal / bad sounding bands walk away with a record deal while real good formations left behind without a contract. It's not fair to me but what to do about it eh...

Twelve new songs on ''Not For The Innocent'', the production is real good and the most important fact above all is that the music will Rock your brains out for sure. Driven by hard ripping, groovy guitars - this output really hits the deck pretty hard and mean as hell. It all took some time to complete everything to unleash finally but it was worth to wait definitely. Heavy, groovy and melodic with lots of 'classic' vibes, these present songs are 'not for the innocent' but for 'real hard rock 'n' rolling maniacs only who likes it rough, loud and heavy... going crazy is the only way out!

Make a fist, stand your ground and krank it up with songs like 'Our Love Is Wasted', 'Love Me Or Leave Me', 'Pain', 'I've Seen The Light Tonight',.... To me, 'Not For The Innocent' is Caroline Blue's best album up to date - especially fanatics of Classic Hard Rock and Metal music will be impressed with this product. Watch for Caroline Blue at: http://carolineblue.com/ or via Myspace by clicking HERE. MY POINTS: 85 / 100

CAROLINE BLUE ‘NOT FOR THE INNOCENT’ (WWJ PRODUCTIONS)

Out of New York comes CAROLINE BLUE, a band formed around vocalist/guitarist/bassist WAYNE W. JOHNSON. He is responsible for almost everything on the new CD of CAROLINE BLUE, a band we reviewed a few years ago (2005: ‘Slave to the hourglass’). Musically it is filled with typical 80s Hardrock, not far away from a band like KEEL or HELIX. 12 songs are included and although the lyrics are very cliché tingled and the music is also not that original (also a bit 80s KISS), fans of this kind of Rock and Roll will certainly enjoy songs like “Love me or leave me”, “Stay”, “Out of my life”, “I’ve seen the light tonight” and “Won’t be home tonight” that all are pure 80s Hardrocksongs, more info at: http://carolineblue.com

(Points: 8.0 out of 10)

Next up is a review from the Oblivion Website in Germany. The link is at http://www.obliveon.de/pn-om/modules.php?op=modload&name=tplcdimport&file=index&req=showcontent&id=12681&cfletter=C

Here's the German version

Anspieltipps: „I..ve Seen The Light Tonight“ und „Far Away From Home“. Ordern könnt ihr die CD übrigens bei CDbaby oder http://www.carolineblue.com bzw. http://www.myspace.com/carolinebluenotfortheinnocent

In English...

The New Yorker Caroline Blue by singer, guitarist and bassist Wayne W. Johnson put anno 2009 with "Not For The Innocent" a second album, which like its predecessor gutklassigen hard rock at the edge to the metal offers. Although one hears at isolated places are still role models such as Kiss or Mötley Crüe, but the songwriting of Mr. Johnson seems mature and acts as an independent or to "Slave To The Hourglass." Although the offer - time and musically - on airplay songs often trimmed texts cliché, but the twelve songs are but one or the other nice riff on. In "Deny", there are times a smooth roller-like riff, while "Stay" is more typical ballad is. Overall, Wayne with "Not For The Innocent" a passable rock album succeeded by his fans, the place, although the final touch to the vocal melodies still missing. Anspieltipps: "I've Seen The Light Tonight" and "Far Away From Home." -Next is from the OnThe Road Website which is based in Japan but written for the South American market. Here's the link http://ontheroadmagazine.blogspot.com/search/label/Caroline%20Blue

And the review....(both in Portugese & English)

A banda americana Caroline Blue nos presenteiam com um hard rock nos moldes mais clássicos, mas também conta com alguns momentos mais puxados para o heavy metal.
Antes deste álbum, a banda tinha apenas um EP chamado "Slave to the Hourglass" de 2005, e agora a banda volta a cena com o seu novo álbum intitulado "Not for the Innocent".

The American band Blue Caroline in the present with a hard rock in the way more traditional, but also has a few more moments pulled the heavy metal.
Before this album, the band had only one EP called "Slave to the hourglass", 2005, and now the band returns to the scene with his new album entitled "Not for the Innocent."
The first thing that jumps to listen album, are good riffs, solos and vocal lines sticky, the vocalist / guitarist Wayne W. Johnson knew fit their voice with the guitar he plays with very good taste, all together a good production for a CD independently. The band is completed by Andy "Doc" Gore (Bass / Backing Vocals) and Joe Boyle (Drums / Backing Vocals).
The first 2 bands already show the style of the album, the songs "Our Love is Wasted" and "Love Me or Leave Me" are on the line hard rock, with a certain weight, and the second song mentioned the riffs are prominent, and interesting vocal lines and chorus to sing along.
What is interesting is that the band is not enough to remember much other bands of the style, maybe sounding even more like Caroline Blue, and this is a good thing and makes a big difference.
Of course, we also have a certain weight, this can be found on the band "Pain", and an exciting instrumental, the vocals in this show is some difference, with a more serious voice with backing vocals interesting, more or less like the Iced Earth is in the ballads.
This cd was released only on cd-r, unfortunately sometimes the bands are forced to start its work this way, but in any event if you are interested by the band, contact them, it is worth.
