James W. McPherson

I first met Sky Byrd, Spencer Fellner, Buddy LeTendre and Roxanne Jeske, the members of the group SILENZE in December of 2010 when they had a local gig. They were looking for someone to take some photos of their performance, and not wanting to miss a photo opportunity, I agreed. I've been to a lot of concerts of name bands, or listening to Cover Bands at local venues, but my first experience with SILENZE was a bit of a surprise, and a pleasant one. Here was a group that didn't play songs from other bands, but had written the lyrics and music for their own special brand of rock. My experience that night was enjoyable, and at the same time, something new to my ears. There weren't any familiar songs being played. But the music I did hear was intriguing, and I wanted to hear more. Their stage "presence" was a bit low key, but I wanted to see more. And the band liked the photos I took, so I figured we could help each other out. Our next meeting took place in January of 2011, and one feature I enjoyed was the tall, brightly colored mohawk hair style of the bass player, Buddy LeTendre. It definitely grabbed your attention. Of course, Buddy wasn't the only member worthy of notice. Each person in the group has their own unique quality that blends well together, and watching them play you think, "This is work?" The band always seems to be having too much fun playing to have to call it work, although hard work it is. In the last two years, we have taken hundreds of photos of the band, and have had the pleasure of watching and hearing them grow as performers and also becoming good friends. Their stage routine improved, the mohawk is now gone, and their music has grown very impressive. Their music is derived from THEIR lives, and the lives of those around them, and it is presented to you from the heart. They MEAN what they SAY in their music, and you can't listen to them for the first time without gaining an insight into the world around you and a greater respect for them as individuals willing to tell it as it is. Yes, I'm prejudiced about SILENZE, because they are clients and even better friends, and I look forward to listening to their music and enjoying their friendship for years to come. It is my hope they will keep on moving ahead in the music world, and I, for one, look forward to the day they are signing record contracts and making world-wide concert tours. They have the talent and the desire, all they need is the right person to hear them..........SILENZE ROCKS! The world just needs to listen! check out James work all you bands who could use some photo's this is a great place to go. https://www.facebook.com/anjiphotography?ref=br_rs

It beens an up and down ride, and we are trying to look good up on stage well one night Spencer says hey why not steam punk? he brought it up because Katarina likes it so much. One thing lead to another and now we are dressing the part. Come check it out live or if you have some suggestions send them along we will try them :)

Recording Single

Been having some fun working out the small parts of our title track, it has been pretty goofy in the studio.

Oh man, talk about lame

I Just pulled a muscle due to the last vestiges of ice at my house, talk about crappy timing, it is more than likely all going to melt tomorrow. Good news however the band is doing more and more fun stuff, next show is on the 9th of April, and we have finalized the selection of songs for the next CD, if any one would like to make a last minute suggestion let us hear your Silenze... j/k but leave a comment with the song you like most. Also of interest, any one who has the desire to hear a really great punk rock band please take the time to go to http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages&tid=1611439881356#!/voarockers and like them. Thank you all for taking the time to read this, your friendly Silenze drummer. Sky

What a Day

Had one of those days where you get to see some people who just make you smile, and my whole day was made. The blueberry pie did not hurt either. Sky
