As some of you may have noticed, i have removed a fair number of songs from my songlist over the past couple weeks. This is due to the launch of ReverbNation pages for two of my projects, The Sap Drains and Dwell.
The Sap Drains (http://www.reverbnation.com/thesapdrains) is my experimental synth-based project, mostly me but with a couple friends helping out on various songs. It's quite different from the work i do with my 'solo' material or my other projects, but it's a side of me that has always been there, and i wanted to do something with it.
Dwell (http://www.reverbnation.com/dwellnc), meanwhile, is a project i did from 2005-08 with guitarist-vocalist Eric Aittala and drummer-programmer BK LaRue. We had previously released 13 one-off singles through iacmusic.com and myspace.com, but have now compiled all but two of them into a full-length that can be streamed here and purchased at http://dwellnc.bandcamp.com/
So why have i removed songs here? Simple - because i had songs from both of those projects in my Nun songlist, and i wanted them in the proper place. In relatively short fashion, however, i'm going to revamp everything on this page with 2 new Nun the Wiser 'releases'.
First will be a re-compiled version of "The Darkness, the Dirt", which i previously released in 2011. Due to losing the HDD (and a few songs i had stupidly not backed up) on my console while putting that together, i had used 4 Dwell songs to fill the gap. With the Dwell compilation, however, those really don't belong there, so i'm going to re-compile that album with the Dwell tracks removed, replacing them with tracks from my earlier "Lies in Wait in the Inky Darkness" (which i had released under the name 'Dear Dead Delila'), essentially creating a compilation of the two. Expect that within a month or two.
Following that will be *new* recordings that i began last year but put on the back-burner while i worked on The Saps. Straight up it *still* may be a fair amount of time before i get those where i want them, but they *are* in slow but steady progress.

Last night i ran across this 'Music for Good' program on ReverbNation that sounded like a great cause, so i gave it a try. So with every sale i or my project The Sap Drains (http://www.reverbnation.com/thesapdrains) get on ReverbNation, 56 cents will go to the 'Half the Sky Movement'.
For now this includes The Sap Drains' "Absynth" album and stray tracks from Nun the Wiser, however i have two full-length Nun projects in the works, at which point i'll 'delete' all of my current Nun the Wiser works on RN and put up the full-lengths.
But the details of those recordings are for another post that i'll make in a bit. For now, this sounds like a great cause, so i'm honoured to play a part, small though it may be.

Finally going to release 'The Darkness, The Dirt', the first Nun the Wiser album, tomorrow, the 20th of December. It's been a rather tedious process, working out the best bits i had completed before my recorder went down earlier this year, followed by trying to work out things with a couple other indie labels before pulling back and relaunching my old label from the '90s, Brandtosaurus Release, for it instead.
A handful of the tracks, such as 'Beneath the Sand', 'Skulls and Snakes', and 'He Will Rise', have been on ReverbNation for a while, while others are new to this forum. I'll likely be making changes to my ReverbNation page over the next couple weeks, but for now, the entire album can be downloaded through Mediafire @ http://www.mediafire.com/?c31lwbifqt4r1
The whole thing is free. Give it a listen, enjoy or don't enjoy as you see fit, and we'll all take it from there.
Likely a few changes to my musical destinations and goals in 2012. I'll pass those along as they fall into place.

Relocation, computer problems, job seeking, irritating cases of heartburn, whatever, have caused me to keep this kind of on the down low. I'm getting serious about it now, though. Got things a little more organized and consistent yesterday, fixing most cases of 'songs in one place but not the other'. Replaced one file with a better mix/master, added ringtones, yiddy diddy,
Today i added a new one, "Still Lonely". This one is kind of frantic, coming to life thanks to a really cool patch i found on my newest keyboard (though i've since completely removed the original keyboard recording. Add a 3-part ebow harmony that i think the world needed, and we're halfway home.
In exchange, i have removed "The Cable on the Shooting Table". Have no fear - it'll be back... just not in this form. I've already tweaked it with a couple new parts added and a couple 'fuzzy' takes replaced, and i'm working on fixing a couple other things i wasn't happy with. It'll return later.
Don't expect anything new for the next week or so, though i do have more ready to go and even more that are extremely close. We can't have everyone getting all of their presents at once, after all...
