The Unveiling of The "New" Dusty Roads Band.

Friday Night Headliners "The Dusty Roads Band" -

It's been 2 years since Dustin Harder's "The Dusty Roads Band" debut release "Searchin' for a River"( Nominated for best Blues album 2009 APCMA's.)

After years of admiring local Winnipeg talent such as bands like- The New Meanies, Scott Nolan Band, The Duhks and Moses Mayes.

With the help of long time friends such as Scott Senior,Sky Onosson ,Jess Rae Ayre and new friends Kent Macrae and Paul Balcain. Dustin has found that musical river he's been searchin' for.

"The Sound and professionalism that has come together with these artists is everything I've been searchin' for and then some. I am very excited and honored to be performing with such class and character. I've been making music for well over 15 Years now and it honestly has never felt this effortless and been this much fun! This line up simply works, Says Harder.

They will be performing some material from their debut album, but mostly new material in a musical genre all their own.The Dusty Roads Band line up now consists of:

Dustin Harder(Lead Vocals/Guitars/Conductor) Jess Rae Ayre (Lead/Back-Up Vocals/Harmonica) Sky Onosson(Bass/Keyboards), Kent Macrae(Drum Kit), Scott Senior(Percussion) Paul Balcain(Saxophone/Clarinet)

The King's Head Tavern

This was our first time playing this fine establishment (an institution here in Winnipeg) and it couldn't have been a better night! We rocked hard, celebrated a few birthdays, and most importantly had a blast with everyone there! We hope to be back at the King's Head really soon. DRB

Times Change(d)

What a show last night! Im sorry for those who missed it, we played the most rockin' hour of music that we've ever played! we weren't sure if we should rock too hard before a solo performance but we were told to "do our thing" and that's what we do! Morgan Davis was amazing, his first set was solo and it was out of this world!!! If you've never heard of this authentic blues guitarist you should check him out, it's a real treat! The final set of thhe night was a real honor for us, Morgan asked us to come join him and we ended up playing the entire set together! Some of his tunes, some of our tunes...What a night!!! DRB

Manitoba Hydro Grand Opening

This was an odd booking for us, but we'll play just about anywhere! It was an honor to be a part of the opening for such a building (largest geothermal building in MB) and I learned quite a bit from Premier Doer's speach but I digress...Performances by Fabuki Daiko (taiko drum group), the performance troupe of The Royal Winnipeg Ballet and a choir of about 20 fiddles (with rythm section) preceded ours inside the new building and when the fiddling ended inside the rockin' startede outside!! We played a solid hour of our best stuff and the lunch time crowd definitely seemed to enjoy it! I will make yet another special mention of our sound technicians (who we had to provide our selves. Weird for an event of this scale) The stage sound (for me at least) was immaculate and I can only assume from the reaction of the crowd that it was comparable out there as well. Next stop, the Times Change(d) with Morgan Davis...Should be a gooder!!! DRB

U of M, Brandon & Blues Cruise

So I've been slacking but I don't even know if anybody reads this so what do care? I'll keep it short, U of M was cool, no real lights to speak of so when it got dark it got DARK!! Scott Cook was passing through town and was gracious enough to come and play a few tunes for us...(he was great!) Brandon was a bit of an odd one, small crowd (however into the music) it wasn't part of the Western Canadian Music Awards but an off shoot of sorts, anyway....We played well (another great sound tech, we've been so lucky) Blues Cruise for Harvest...What can I say? We've been doing this gig for three years and it's always a blast! Inside Out Groove Machine was great and the boat was rockin' as usual!! DRB

Bud's On Broadway (Saskatoon)

two nights in this little joint wasn't enough! Allot like the Windsor, this blues bar sports a big ass signed picture of Big Dave (we like this) and a whole lot more world class musicians! The first night we played rather well but nobody was there to hear it :( the second night was allot better! We played very well and there were a few more folks in the bar to hear it. We made some friends and played the blues all night :) We all had a great time here in Sask. and in Alberta...Time to go home :) DRB

Pleasantview (Scott Cook c.d. release Edmonton)

A few days before the gig we found out that Bill Bourne was on the bill for this show and we got REALLY excited! We shared the stage with allot of great musicians that night; The Low Flying Planes, Scott Cook, Bop Ensemble All really good shows! We took the stage last (and a little late for a Sunday night) but the good sized fist full of people that stayed got a real rockin' set! We had the whole audience dancing for most of the set and by the time we left we worked up quite a sweat! Our sound team was incredible, Radar takes the "best sound tech" award home!!! Right outside of Tad's house (Tad is a friend of Scott Cook's who put us up) we blew a tier on the trailer...The next morning the Jakes took to the streets lookin' for a tier iron (thanx to that kind and trusting mechanic in the Chevrolet dealership on Whyte ave.) After a little bit of elbow grease and coffee we hit the road for Saskatoon, two more shows and it's home time!

Scalliwags (Camrose)

Rose City Roots Music Society presented this show and really took care of us this time! After playing the blues jam at Blues On Whyte in Edmonton and rocking a packed bar of bikers (and selling a boat load of c.d.s) we hit the road quick to get to Camrose. Sound check immediately and eat some great pizza and it's time to start the show! A shaky first set but no one noticed, a great second set and a third set that the bar owner paid us extra to play was apparently the way to Camrose' heart! The people in this town love to have a good time and we enjoyed the hell out of playing for them! Back to Edmonton for a show with our good friend Scott Cook and living legend Bill Bourne! More later... DRB
