more upheaval

After having a prolonged time off gigging, TSK got hard at writing some new material. The writing got to a stage where we've managed to record all the new songs, even playing one or two of them at the more recenet live shows, all members were extremely happy with the direction the new stuff was taking, and then, out of the blue, our version of the spinal tap drummer curse kicked in again, as latest guitar recruit Southy decided to call it a day. He put his decision down to his own personal pressures, work pressures, and the bands relaxed approach to things. It's understandably awkward being a new member in a band where the other members have known each other for at least 7 years, and in three of our cases, a hell of a lot longer than that. For the time being we're carrying on as a four piece, we have gigging commitments in the new year with gigs at TJ's and the Derby Punks picnic. Old guitarist Paul has offered to stand in and play these gigs for us if needs be (cheers mucka) and we'll probably start looking for a new guitarist in the new year. The new album is now halfway written and recorded though, so it's not all doom and gloom!!

Reviews of Viktims Of This System

A split album shared by South Wales hardcore act This System Kills (ex Rectify, 100, 000 Body Bags and In The Shit) and Vendee, France four piece Viktims co-released between two labels. This System Kills are building up quite a live reputation in the South West, and on the evidence here it's not hard to see why. The seven cuts from the five-piece showcase their confident and big blend of hard edged but melodic hardcore tinged with a tougher metal edge. Front man Pig is a particularly effective front man, blasting his lungs out but never coming across as a tuneless grunter, instead his aggressive but firm delivery adds to the attraction. With songs like 'Hand Of Man', 'Autonomy' and 'Sell Me' This System Kills wear their anti-statist credentials on their sleeves, with a healthy ultra-belief in the punk DIY underground a thoroughly commendable and refreshing attitude today. Viktims offer a rougher, harder sound combining ultra-fast thrash with power and authority, never coming across as messy. Adding to the assault with some great bass riffs that add to the appeal of their full-blooded attack. A 14-track celebration of the weight of the underground DIY punk ethic. 4 out of 5 Review by Sean McGhee tsk are gonna end this year off with 3 gigs ,, soon tba will be a short tour in france dates will be posted shortly ,, plus a new t shirt design plus a possible new lp release out next year ,, so things are going from strength to strength at tsk hq with a shit load of things happening in the future
