2024 Update

So much has happened since I last wrote a blog. Sarah Church recorded her first album "Letting Go" at Grant Avenue in Hamilton and released it in March 2023. The band toured Hamilton, Waterford, Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa and finally Montreal, capping it off with a livestream concert from our home in Simcoe. The band returned to the studio, this time at Boxcar Recording in Hamilton to start work on "Shadows of Time". As of this writing 2 singles have been released. "DRIVE", a rocker about getting the hell away from everything, and "Always A Way", Sarah's first true love song. Always A Way was accompanied by our first official music video, and has received praise and thousands of views. We thank you! Check it out either on my site www.adamostrosser.ca or at Sarah's www.sarahchurch.ca . We are poised to release the next single "Pause Button" this friday, Nov 15. You can presave now on Spotify. Thanks to all who have streamed, downloaded, watched on YouTube, listened and spinned us on radio stations across Ontario, plus Riverwest Radio in Milwaukee for hosting a two part interview extravaganza with Sarah featuring music from both projects. Tickets for Sarah Church at Live On Elgin are now available at www.sarahchurch.ca and new dates are being announced soon. Looking forward to seeing you at the shows!

Autumn 2022

Hello everyone, I wanted to stop by Reverbnation to thank everyone for making me #1 in my area! My songs continue to sell and be streamed all over the world. This summer was amazing, particularly my residence playing tuesday nights at Severn Lodge in Port Severn Ontario. Amazing evenings, every one of them.

Also thanks to everyone who asked me to be a part of their Engagement parties, bar mitzfahs and weddings over the past few months. Sarah and I had a blast!

Watch for new original shows coming up in the fall and winter, plus continued residence at the JW Marriott the Rosseau, and of course the great every other wednesday gig at the Thirsty Cactus in Dundas.

Thank you again, Adam

January 2021

We are all rising to meet the challenge of the lockdown here in Ontario. It's the first time we have experienced something this life altering in our lifetimes. This will certainly define this point in history. It occured to Sarah and I that there are alot of voices being heard, a lot of opinions struggling for attention. In contrast, we offer this new song and video called "Charity". It is instrumental, thoughtful and hopefully calming. Make a tea, put on your favourite sweater and enjoy. https://youtu.be/CDYIYDf965I

Dear Diary, long time!

New Year, new single. It's been a while, how are you doing? It's an unseasonably mild January, oddly making it go by a bit slower. Thought I would provide some relaxing distraction by releasing a little track I had recorded. While Sarah and I were living in Alliston, Ontario, she was running her shop in nearby Cookstown. This left me with mornings open to write and record in our little upstairs studio. I found inspiration every single day. "Charity" was written and recorded in one sitting between morning coffee and breakfast. Like "Manitoulin Island", "Whatever Stella" and "Foolproof Plan" the song just visited me and I translated it through guitar. I'm very grateful to have the musical vocabulary to be able to give voice to these visiting tunes when they call. After playing the track for Sarah and some other friends and family it was suggested that I made the song available as a single, and here we are. The song is available on all major streaming platforms and for sale on Bandcamp. You can find links to all this stuff on my new website www.adamostrosser.ca.

Just before we moved back to Hamilton in April of 2020, Sarah and I began playing a weekly acoustic set on YouTube. Join us on Thursdays at 8pm EDT (Hamilton time) at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKCXjyIWwGrzfyR206F2l5w. Hit subscribe to be notified of new content. I think that's about it for now. I recommend taking a nice walk, fixing that thing that's been broken for a while, and learning a new language maybe. Or buy some new music...?

Autumn is here...

Loving the new place in Alliston, ON. We've taken to "rurban" living quite well. I'm also enjoying exploring, eating at and playing a whole new circuit in the North. New music is coming, and gigs are always around the corner. You can still find me every other Wednesday at the Thirsty Cactus in Dundas, at least a couple fridays a month at the Carrigan Arms, once a month at the Argyle in Caledonia. Other than that I am pretty much in Muskoka and Toronto. Loving the changing colours.

Seems I missed a year

Happy 2019 yall. Seems I was so busy I forgot to blog last year. I'm doing fine, how are you? Between playing my own music with my wonderful band, I'm still playing lead guitar in the Mike Maas band, still performing all over with so many talented friends like Annette Haas, Tomi Swick, Joel Guenther, Sarah Church, Chris Gormley, Matt Gormley, Matty Simpson, Will Gillespie, and so very many much more. Solo gigs abounded this past year, including many up north in Muskoka. Looking forward to a summer full of that stuff this year. Also, the band and I (original band) are making plans to play a lot more in the fall, so hopefully we can muster a new recording to sell at those shows. I'll keep you posted. Look at the new photos the Dave Strong took in the gallery. Those are from a great evening we had at Mills Hardware in Hamilton in April. I'll make an effort to stop by here more too. Take care!

Holy Smokes its been a year!

Festivals, theatre dates, scads of club dates, new house gigs, new bands (so many new bands), such a crazy crazy year. New address, other new address, back to new old address, figuring this all out. Stay tuned, I won't be a stranger anymore.

Get your tickets:

Fri Dec 16 @ This Ain't Hollywood (on the bill with Matty Simpson and Justin Dunlop) Thursday Dec 22 @ Baltimore House (with White Pine Dancers and Blind Mule) My new band will be playing both events so get your tickets early and come support local music!

What a great summer

Hey everyone, hope you are enjoying our bonus summer weather! I can't get enough this year. Its been a very busy summer gigging with Annette Haas, Tomi Swick, Adam Cooke, Ritchie Thoman, Mike Scime, Dave McMillions, Steve Pelletier, MarkIntyre.. ok I just realized this list is going to be long. But thanks to everyone one for a great gigging summer. I'm hoping this winter I will finally release "Foolproof Plan" as a single, and that some other ideas I've had will see the light of day as well. Lots of great beach days this summer. Got to go back to Montreal for the first time in over 10 years, and it's still the best. Hope everyone got the most out of the great weather and that there is more to come.

See you around Hamilton!

So much music!!

Puerto Morales in Mexico is a great place to ask the universe for things. Since getting back I have had the honour of playing with Adam Cookes band, playing with Tomi Swick at Juno Fest and then attending the Junos, and am now getting ready to play with Adam at his CD release party on Sunday. My Reverbnation page is at #1 on the charts and I couldn't be more grateful. Tonight we perform my music at my favourite club - Gallaghers Bar and Lounge - with outstanding musicians Mark MacIntyre and Mike Scime. Thanks universe! Now to get to work on a new recording for you all. Fair is fair.
