Skeletal Family were one of the most influential groups of the eighties Gothic era
with a fan base spanning all ages,
With their debut single "Trees" gaining extensive airplay from BBC Radio One's John Peel'the band
bypassed the usual route of playing the small pub circuit and made their debut at London's Fulham Greyhound in 1982.
Hailing from Keighley, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, the band followed up on their initial
success with a further six singles and two albums, both albums making it to number one in
the National Independent charts.
Heavy National/International music press coverage ensued, which complete with numerous fanzine
features saw the band playing British/European tours and guesting/headlining at prestigous venues such as Brixton Academy and Londons Marquee.
Tour supports at the time included fellow Leeds cult band The Sisters Of Mercy, and also
appeances with Siouxsie & the Banshees, Killing Joke and The Mission. Plus five Radio One
sessions for John Peel, Janice Long & Dave "Kid" Jensen.
Suprise, after reforming for an initially one off sell out gig at Leeds Cockpit in December 2002, plus the
worldwide success of their reissued back catalogue on compact disc and numerous Goth compilations,
prompted the band to consider the many offers being proposed from British/European & American promotors.
