Cali's own Serpent Underground are a Hard Rock/Metal band who are renowned for crushing guitar playing and melodic, yet dynamic vocals.
The initial influence you can hear from their music is Five Finger Death Punch, and that is certainly a great aspect. Instead of being a direct copy of FFDP, Serpent Underground have clearly done their research and have made music that is exciting and just plain brilliant. They are in no way dull and show just how diverse a band can be.
From the calmer nature of "Wait For Me" to the brutal "Her Atrocity" there is clearly something to cater for everyone's needs. The lyrics paint a story and compliment the instrumentation cohesively.
If you are a fan of FFDP, Pantera or almost anything heavy with melodic aspects, then Serpent Underground are definitely worth that spare time out of your day to check out. Plus they have a truly great name."
