Rehearsals

The rehearsals that I have been doing with pianist Silard Somorjay are a joy and much hard work. The band is excited to be together again and playing Silard's wonderful music. I have to practice the bass at home for hours a week to play these complex arrangements, and I am having fun doing so! As we come toward the close of summer 2011, I pray that you are all safe and well.

Tom Borton

My friend and fellow musician saxophonist and composer Tom Borton passed away on July 26, 2011. I am sad with tears today to learn of his passing, but I am ever so grateful to have known and worked with such a talented and gentle spirit. Tom began his own post production music company back in the 1990's called LA Post Music. His work there garnered him an Emmy nomination for a Smithsonian documentary. He produced over 150 CD's of music for post production use. His resume as a musician is stellar, including releasing his own CD's titled "Dancing With Tigers" and "The Lost World", both of which did well on the jazz charts around the US. Tom's latest recordings include drummer Tom Kennedy, bassist James Genus, and pianist Steve Allee. Visit Tom's website for more information - http://tomborton.com/ I will always miss you Tom, and I am glad that we got to share a laugh and to play some great music together during our lifetimes. Rest In Peace my friend. Love, Jerome "Roamer" Lee
