...sidenote on TRA

A little side note here on the Transplant Research Army, (TRA), the core of the fan division of Transplant Research. TR have always held open rehearsal sessions, meaning that anyone, and that really means everyone, is welcome to drop in and grab a drink, chat with the band or join in with the madness. The TRA was formed from the hard rockin amigos that regularly attended and contributed to this chaotic ensemble. The Elite or Captains of the TRA had more than just a casual interest in the band, they became roadies, guitar techs, sound engineers, cameramen (and women) sales people, drivers and security to name but a few. All of this was voluntary; all of this formed a team bond that is still shared today. The energy in Transplant Research continues to draw people toward it. As these Captains spread the word of TR, more people came to the gigs and wanted to share the experience. These became the core of the TRA and form the largest part of the fan base. The TRA is recruiting now, merch discounts and other special offers are available to all those who enlist. Check out www.transplantresearch.co.uk TRA section now! Spread the Word...

The Sledgehammer

Transplant Research hit the recording studio like a sledgehammer pounding raw flesh. This was their first time coming together to record the songs they had written and played and they were far from conventional in their approach. They had their own idea of how things were going to happen and they had the force of will, personality and sheer physical size to dominate the studio environment. It was far from a negative force, it was just the level of energy that poured into the creative process that was hard to express. You had to be there, you had to see the fire in their eyes. They had great support too, with kick-ass musicians from the punk, hardcore and metal scene dropping by during recording and mixing, sharing opinions and sharing the energy. TR listened to everybody, took in everyone’s thoughts and ideas and blended the best of them with the Bands own views on how things should be done. It was something special being part of that creative process and watching bonds of friendship form that are still unbreakable today. However, this was just the beginning...Spread the Word...

Believe what you will.

I won’t tell it all, maybe I can’t tell it all. My memories, like my notes, are fragmented and a little scorched around the edges. I will tell you what I can though, believe what you will but do not pass judgement. I was there, I know and I saw. I was there the day that Transplant Research officially signed the contract with Weedspell Records and I wasn’t the only one. A small horde of TR fans had descended on the venue to join in with and witness the beginning. TR played for an hour and a half then signed the contract on stage in front of the screaming crowd. The energy was so physical you could feel it, taste it, smell it, see it in the eyes of everyone there. You were part of it, part of something that you shared with those around you. An exclusive, elite unit of individuals joined together in common purpose. It felt like part of a very large family, or maybe more like a Clan. It’s the energy and intensity and the passion in the music that hooks you, you can’t just listen to the downloads, or the singles, or the album. You need to see them play live, even if it’s only once. Then the songs you play have meaning, you remember the way it felt when you were there, feeling so alive and part of something much, much bigger. I wanted to tell people, I wanted to...Spread the Word...

Like a phoenix from the flames.

If I had the time to write the entire story about the journey that Transplant Research have been on since signing to the Weedspell Records Label, most of you would not believe a word of it. It happened though, I know, I was there. I saw the joy and the pain, the blood and the sweat, the triumphs and the catastrophes. I was there, yet still I find the story incredulous, bordering on the surreal. The courage, passion and devotion I saw in Transplant Research changed the way I see things. It changed my perspective on life and its effect on the people and the world around me. It gives me fire in my veins when I need it, giving me the strength to overcome anything in my path, yet the horrors can wake me screaming in the dead of the night. This is my story...Spread the Word...

Transplant Research - The Album

2009 is turning into "Metal Mayhem" at HiFidelity Studios in Sunderland as Transplant Research strolled in to wreak havoc. Sunderland's premier metal outfit Transplant Research, have recorded the first five tracks for their forthcoming album. Freshly signed to Weedspell Records Ltd, this will be a release to make you run crying to your mommy. Singer and bassist Johnny Wall said "We're aiming high with this album. It already has our label Weedspell Records chomping at the bit to release, but we're taking our time. We've sunk a lot of time and effort into this album and we've still got more to do." Working with Dave Dorn at Hifidelity in Sunderland, the aim is to achieve a sound that will see them transverse all boundaries. The band want something to take their fans to a place no man will ever forget. The result? As Dave Dorn has commented, "The opening seconds of the opening track will cause any listener to have an involuntary bowl movement, pure brutality!" We at Weedspell describe them as "experts and instructors in a shit-kicking factory!” This is no understatement, but there's much more to this band than raw power. With Jai Wall, a drummer - part man, part machine with brain damage behind the skins; guitar and vocal assaults from Nez Armstrong; solid bass and vocals to make you bleed from Johnny, these guys have got a formula that will make you convulse into submission. Keep an eye open, an ear to the ground, this summer, a Transplant Research assault is coming. Louis Weedspell Records Ltd
