Extra Bars from UNRELEASED thenextstage track Forgive + Repent

For the first Vancouver 22/9 Studio Session I had a long day essentially improvising as an actor and rapper; thrown into a medical audition and decided I would be off book in full scrubs and still do my last minute studio booking for a song I wrote four days prior at about 3am to no beat. I definitely enjoy a real challenge especially cuz we had to wait for bout 2 hours before I could even get into the both since we needed things re set up after the other music producers wrapped up. In short I had a fully fledged song that had bars left over from every verse on deck with a beat that fit with the mood just not the timing. The song I thought we'd make and the final cut you record tend to be two similar but opposite things, and in this case it is because the full overarching thought doesn't get to reach its initially intended purpose and I feel like they were worth reading and looking into and although out of context you may be able to get another hint about how my project might sound. thenextstage is coming out soon! //////here are the extra bars /////// //Policies divide a country so that you have the illusion of a choice And if you have the loudest voice then when you win you can rejoice But when these politics are solely benefiting from misconceptions Then these systems are just for show and not in place for our protection /// //If you live your life with no regrets then who's to say whose right or wrong It took some searching to discover where someone like me just might belong With these algorithms that segregate themselves relentlessly I just can't question what I am; it's been this way since time began/// /// It might be a cycle that cannot break when the infliction is too deep There might be too much blood that seeps not understanding what's underneath So when you bury your mistakes you never know whats still exposed You can't just keep both your eyes closed; this is the life you chose. ///// These bars were to be spoken at the end and only work for length and acted as a thesis for the song /////Forgiveness is not granted to those who do not have the courage to ask By simply asking you are admitting you needed it in the first place You cannot have any substantial change if you leave your affairs unresolved You cannot move forward if you leave one foot firmly planted in the past //////

The Promised Land

This alternative hip hop track is about the illusions the industry has cast and the large shadow every independent artist has to overcome in order to be seen in the light.

As the industry evolves into something more obscure it is even harder to emerge from a pack so vast to get to some sort of place of success when trending markets and genres evolve faster than an artist can explore; and the rest of our society who do not believe what artists are doing is worth anything substantial other than to simply fill a void as an employee for something that generate profit to be able to support yourself and others.

On one hand you have those who have to generate income in any way necessary to be able to produce what they want to; but in the case of a fellow rapper I grew up with the path he chose gained him notoriety because he was able to spend substantial money pursuing his "dream" without much skill to back it up and how he made his money was dealing drugs which 5 months ago he overdosed on and died. Then of course everybody mourning him relentlessly on social media where the same ones ridiculing him while he was alive. It is not my place to say whether or not he had merit although his songs were quite superficial and drug related, it calls to question what are "artists" who think they need to do what they need to do to get somewhere when it takes way more than that to live as a performer without being at risk of spiraling out of control.

without discipline there cannot be success without goals there cannot be triumph where can you find the promised land? you just gotta keep digging

Intervention

Without sacrifice we cannot strive for greatness; Without commitment we cannot reach our goals; If we continue to embellish upon things that do not matter, we will never know where to draw the line. You cannot cut the cord upon the ties that seem secure; you cannot cross a bridge when there are lessons still to learn. Beyond what we can measure is what is to be discovered; but since it cannot be fore told it must unfold deceptively; alluding us with every turn and illuminating what can't be burned. At least we know that happiness is only what we create; so that what we can enjoy is just what's left to fate.
