Moments & Monuments / Blog

So long! We love you! ♥

Hey There,

We have sad news. Moments & Monuments is now on permanent hiatus. We've played a couple hundred shows, toured Western Canada and have had a hell of time bringing our brand of pop rock to the world. Unfortunately, it's time to move on.

So long Canada and thanks for all the shoes. We love you! Had a ton of fun. Goodnight and good luck. ♥

Chad

We're back in action!

It's been a while. But we're back. I decided to hang up my guitar back in 2010 to concentrate of my dance music project "Fox Island Collective" with Chris. When Chris and I parted ways at the end of 2010, it seemed that Moments & Monuments would never see another show. That was until J.P. Gaston from Once Just and I decided to resurrect the group with a new passion. As many of you have already heard, I'll be traveling to the UK this summer and will be living in Wales for the next three years playing music there. Until then, J.P. and I are gonna kick out the old M&M jams throughout Western Canada. Don't miss it. These are gonna be our last shows in Canada for a long long time.

Much Love,

Chad M&M

Moments & Monuments begin Spring Sessions 2010

So we’re kicking it up a notch this spring. We’re playing only select shows in select locations (and if you were one of the folks that followed us to Banff, Kimberley, Lake Louise or Calgary, you know that we only hit the coolest spots. We’re bringing back spring flavor with new songs, new sessions and a new groove that you’ll definitely love.

Also, be sure to check out our side project, Fox Island Collective (http://www.foxislandcollective.com/). This is our year and we’re looking to make waves. We’ll be announcing our new tour dates soon. :)

Peace,

Moments & Monuments is officially on tour this winter!!

Well, we’re on tour again. And you know something? We turn one year old during January. This leads me to believe that this is going to be one of our best tours yet. Chris and I have been bending the sounds — we’ve been forging them. We’ve got ourselves a lyrical smelter. We’ve broken out electric guitar, sequencing and an electric drum kit to make you move your feet. Our sound is evolving into something altogether ethereal.

We’re recording our second album this December as well. It’s unlike anything we’ve ever produced in the past and are very excited for you guys to hear what we’ve been working on. It’s gonna blow you away.

Come out to a show. Come see us this season. We’ve got the fires to break the ice this winter. Come feel the love. Come experience a band like no other. We promise, it won’t be something you soon forget. ;)

Yours Forever,

chad and chris Moments & Monuments

Moments & Monuments has got the fire to break the ice this winter...

Chris and I are gonna be booking shows like crazy this winter. Moments & Monuments will return in full force when the snow falls. We’ve got a bunch of new songs, have rehearsed some pretty killer new covers and offer fans more of the explosive Moments & Monuments action you know and love.

We’ll be booking across Alberta, will be on the slopes and will hit the prairies with our atmospheric brand of four-to-the-floor urban rhythm, crystalline vocals and ethereal guitar hooks. Be sure to check out our website for a show near you!

Moments & Monuments makes autumn feel right...

We haven’t gone anywhere. Sure, we’ve cooled off a bit — playing 50 shows inside of our first six months and being #1 in the country on Reverbnation Rock in our first month would tire any band. But we’re not going anywhere. As many fans are aware, I’ve started writing our second EP and this one could take a while. I’ve been at ease on my break from music for almost a month now and finally feel like I’ve finally found a modicum of respite from the perils of the Western Canadian music industry. It’s gonna change the way I make music. I can feel it in my bones. This is just the beginning.

The next five tracks are going to be out of this world. That’s for certain. Until they’re done, I’ll be maintaining a short hiatus. Afterall, I have mountain pine beetles to fight and carbon dioxide to consume with EcoBalance.

We’ll only be playing a couple of shows in the next little while, so catch us while you can. And if you can, I can’t wait. :)

Be well, my friends. See you at the shows.

Love,

Moments & Monuments gears up for summer...

Wouldn't you know it? I'm writing this blog post on the road. Chris is asleep at the band house and I'm enjoying some well deserved lunch at the Rose & Crown in Banff. I was gonna go for a walk a little later down by the river and maybe write some new tunes. The world is desperate for more pop anthems; I can feel it.

We're on tour again. And this tour lasts all summer. Be sure to check our schedule, as we're being booked all over. Big things are happening. Stay tuned -- the world's axis is on tilt. There's gonna be a supernova. And that supernova is Moments & Monuments. :)

See you on the road.
