Great article about us in German Wasser-Prawda Magazine!

Nathan Norgel of the German Wasser-Prawda Magazine wrote a great article about us. It is in German, so I used Google Translations to translate to english so the trasnlation didn't come out perfect, but you get the jist. Here's the link to the actual article in German. http://wasser-prawda.de/new2/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1100 Here... See More’s the Google German-English translation: We welcome assistance in any form, write Soul of the River on their homepage. The band from the Riverside, California says she would be completely broke. I do not know how seriously they mean. Because of their music can not lie there. The Californian will appeal not only surfers. The trio, sometime in June 2004 from a wild song-writing session was created, you can sort, roughly speaking in the radio rock / jam band-drawer. You know: the driving bass lines, drums that although much of rock comes from, but can also lie down for an impulsive Schuffle. And a guitarist and singer, which runs the whole emotional crown. Live this band must be absolutely outrageous when you can close out their studio productions. If I can not understand why some writing colleagues come up with the idea, they would sound like Pearl Jam at a beach party after Eddie Vedder has become the surfer. Since I lack a little understanding for the whole contemporary surfer scene. Echoes of Jack Johnson is heard in various reggae-echoes well. But they might as well be attributed to the influence of The Police or The Clash. For here no hippie bliss is felt in songs such as Sweet as the Sky or Sex In The Morning. This is driving Mucke grooving funk rock at its finest. Who wants to help Soul of the River, which the band offers a whole range of ancillary facilities. This is from the free distribution of their songs to friends via the turning of videos for her songs up to the nerves of journalists and other people who could make the group better known. In any case, but you should take the time and listen to the 19 songs they have been available on the web. Because it's definitely worth it.

Riverside, Claremont and Redlands.

We had a blast Saturday when we played three shows in one day. This Thursday at 2:30 is our return to Sherman Indian High School in Riverside. Last time was way fun, so we’re pretty stoked to be playing again.

Then we’re going to the studio to master the album. This means we’re seriously almost done.

Saturday at 10:00 we’re playing a Relay for Life at Scripps College in Claremont CA, then I’m gonna take the band to the Folk Music Center where Ben Harper grew up, so we can trip out on the world instruments.

Then we’re going to play Mill Creek Cattle Co. in Mentone CA (next to Redlands) that night with two of our favorite bands, GrooveSession and The Generation! Now this will be awesome.

GrooveSession is a funky jazz jam trio and The Generation is Straight up Rock and Roll. http://www.myspace.com/groovesession http://www.myspace.com/thegeneration951

Three Shows this Saturday!

Hi, This Saturday April 24 we’re playing two American Cancer Society Relays, and a show that night. We’re playing Cal State Long Beach at Noon, Riverside CA at 2:30 and Mt. Baldy at night. Make sure to catch us, and say hello. Anyone can come to the relays, even you. They are all ages and family oriented (That means no Sex in the Morning) and the show at Snowcrest Lounge (See above) in Mt. Baldy is 21 and over. (For more info on the shows scroll down) We’re playing Sherman High School Thursday (Students only sorry) and after that we’re going to the studio for mastering the album! That means we’re really close to finally releasing this thing. That’s about it, I’m trying not to be so wordy on these emails, sometimes I never know when to shut up. Soul of the River

New Video, and Show Saturday!

Hi, We have a video up showing some behind the scenes footage of the “Good Morning San Diego” appearance, as well as our show at Dreamstreet from last Saturday, and we bring you into our rehearsal space, and show you our potential new rehearsal space, But first:

We haven’t played the Inland Empire/LA area in a while, and this Saturday we are playing Shamrock’s in Chino Hills. We go on at 8, and Casket Salesmen, a band we really dig is playing after us.

Soul of the River Casket Salesmen Shamrock’s 4020 Chino Hills Parkway Chino Hills CA 91709 909-597-8333

Thanks for digging our tunes. We really hope you still think we are cool after you see the incredible accommodations of where we rehearse.

San Diego TV Appearance and Show this Saturday!

What’s happening? We’re pretty stoked to let you guys know that we’re playing “Good Morning San Diego” this Saturday January 30, 2010 at 9:40 a.m. Channel 9 KUSI. We’re going to play some songs and do an interview.

Steve and Rene really want to play “Sex in the Morning” but we’re not going to, I want the station to ask us to come back. Steve was even suggesting we change it to “She loves Eggs in the Morning” I still don’t think that’s gonna fly. I know that’s not very rock and roll of me. Please don’t go telling them that we should have played “Sex in the Morning”, they’ll keep rubbing it in, and I’ll get mad and there will be all this band drama, and caviar will be thrown everywhere. The band will break up and it will be all your fault.

I should really just make up this story to tell you all. Like how we got in an argument with the program director which ended in beer bottles thrown, because he didn’t want us to play it, but we played it anyway, with fireworks shooting off from our amps catching the backdrop on fire while we’re rocking out on top of the news desk in Kiss makeup, spitting blood on the reporters……..hey there’s an idea!

Kiss Makeup and spitting blood to the tune of “Sweet as the Sky” would be strangely bizarre…. Talking Steve into putting on Kiss makeup is going to be very difficult.

We’re playing that morning to plug the show we’re playing that same night at Dream Street in Ocean Beach. This show’s gonna be badass. We’ll play Sex in the Morning that evening.

Saturday January 30, 2010 "Good Morning San Diego" Appearance at 9:40 a.m. Channel 9 KUSI promoting our show that night at:

Saturday January 30, 2010 Dreamstreet 2228 Bacon Street San Diego (Ocean Beach), California 92107 $5 21 and over
