The Ram Boola Black / Blog

4 songs in.....

We'll after weeks of dicking with this one song, i finally cracked it with some vocals. So far it is an acoustic kinda song that has the feeling of a summer drive. It's entitled "You & I" and I can't wait to finish it. It really is a cool breezy kinda of a song......

Onward and upward......right.....?

Hill of Frustration.....

Tonight I went into the studio to work (more like struggle) on a new piece of music and it turned into a frustrated night. The amount of frustration I have with the music that is in my head and trying to translate it to guitar can be ridiculous. I'm a frustrated guitar player at heart and I can get pissed that my fingers wont do what I want them to do. After demoing the song TWICE in the same night in 2 different ways, I have come to conclusion that I'm going to maybe have to either take a completely different approach to this song or put it on the back burner for awhile and move on. Needless to say I was disappointed. I will ponder on this for a few days and maybe try again. Man....@#$%$!!

3 songs down more to go.

Going forward....

I have actually been making good progress on the new Ram Boola Black record. I wasn't sure at first where I wanted to take it but so far I have 3 really strong songs that I'm very happy with so far. I am massaging them until they are done and then I can move on or so I think that's the plan. I already have the 4th song down in a raw demo (that doesn't sound bad actually).... I just have to do some arrangement work on it before I track it. It looks like the record is going to have a little of everything. A little heavy, a little mellow and of course my jazzy chords...

Muse...go ahead and sent the songs down...I'm waiting......

Where to Next?

Sometimes the same inspiration comes along and you look at it and you are tired of it. Trying to find new inspiration is the hard thing. Where are you? Diving in Deep...or at least trying......
