Nach einem fantastischen Gig auf dem Peiner Eulenmarkt (Sa., 14.9., 18:30 Uhr) mit Hunderten von begeisterten Zuschauern/-hörern (und der zu erwartenden anschließenden Missachtung durch die lokalen Schmier- und Schundblätter) geht SHOTGUN JUSTICE nicht nur auf zwei weitere Gigs Anfang Oktober zu (Fr., 4.10., in Schöppenstedt, und Sa., 5.10., in Wolfenbüttel – beide mit PROXILIAN und IRONGATE, allerdings mit unterschiedlicher Running Order, Setlist und auch Besetzung). Am Freitag zupft unser neuer Basser Tim den Tieftöner, beim unmittelbar darauf folgenden Gig am Samstag unser langjähriger Weggefährte und Interims-Muckerkollege Tom.
Heute vor 10 Jahren, am 23.9.2003, fand die erste Jam-Session einiger befreundeter Metalmusiker statt, aus der später die Band SHOTGUN JUSTICE hervorgehen sollte. Mit dabei: Ingolf Schimpf (ex-Samhain, ex-Breathless und ex-Glory Anthem), Alex Nicolai, Erik Dembke (alle Gitarre), Tobias Gross (Schlagzeug), und später zunächst auch Frank Hänsel (Bass). Allen ehemaligen SHOTGUNnern & Tumourheads einen metallischen Gruß und ebenso fetten Dank!!
Beinahe passend zu diesem Anlass habe ich am Wochenende die GEMA-Formulare fertig ausgefüllt und heute mit der Postkutsche versendet, auch haben wir von Johan de Jager (Dark Dimension Art) das endgültige Artwork für unser kommendes Demo-/Single-release erhalten. Fettes Ding!!
Abschließend bleibt noch der Wunsch zu erwähnen, dass wir auch in 10 weiteren Jahren noch ohne größere Gicht- und Arthrose-Attacken auf der Bühne stehen und rummätteln werden. Und vielleicht, wirklich nur vielleicht, haben wir bis dahin unsere aktuellen CD-Aufnahmen abgeschlossen...wir werden sehen!!

"STEEL HELD HIGH", international heavy metal sampler projekt under guidance of David "Daerst" Kuri (Booze Control):
Audio files uploaded on stick, and together with the signed contracts I put everything into an envelope and (really oldschool!!) sent it by post.
So we`re curious about the things to come...

At the moment SHOTGUN JUSTICE is recording 8 songs for a complete new CD. As studio work will not be finished before the end of this year a first demo CD with 2 brand-new songs will be released this spring.
So far as work on this project is started with absolute priority the band will just play some few gigs and festivals in the next months, f.e. on the well-known festival BREAK THE GROUND (13th to 16th of June), their show is on friday, 6/14, 4h pm.
A local TV channel asked the band to film material for a special documentary about rock-bands in Northern Germany. SHOTGUN JUSTICE will be the opener for this TV serial.
Further on, there are plans to release a first live DVD of material that has been collected so far, as well as a re-release of the band`s complete demo collection from 2005 to 2009.
