Great Review of Door To AnimA from Eugene Foley. See it now!

Door To AnimA just got an amazing review from Eugene Foley. This review s a big deal because Eugene has worked and still works with major labels, MTV, VH1 and tons more; In other words, he has tons of experience and deals with the cream of the crop; To score so high with Eugene speaks volumes about the Caliber of music that comes from Door To AnimA.

The review is kind of long so I'm just going to paste the highlights In quotations. This is for the new Ethereal Album:

"RATING SCALE "1" Indicates the Lowest Score "5" Indicates The Highest Score

Recording Quality/Production: 4

Lead Vocals: 4

Musicianship: 4.5

Lyric Writing: 4 to 4.5

Music Composing: 4.5

Melodies: 5

Song Arrangement: 4

Overall Delivery: 4.5"

"I enjoyed the songs and as you read above, you scored quite well.

The material had great dynamics and the vocals and music are delivered with passion and confidence.

To give you insight to the scoring scale above, the majority of artists score in the 2.5 to 3.5 range in the various categories.

Whenever an artist sees a 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 as a score in a certain category (or categories) it means that's an area I feel they need to improve and develop.

When an artist sees 4, 4.5 or 5 as their score in a category, it's a validation from a professional, confirming that the songs are of the highest level and show strong potential in the ultra-competitive music industry."

"I don't give out 4's and 5's easily, so any of those you see, you have earned. Well done!"

If you didn't notice, Door To AnimA scored 4 or higher in every category:)

Door To AnimA signs on to a Record Label!!!!

December 4th 2010

Truth be told, I've been pinging off the walls the past few day's, and I'm just so pumped, I have to talk about it.

After a life time of trudging the music industry, the planets have aligned just right; Door To AnimA has just been signed to Full Entertain Music, Cinderella Records!

Many parts about how this came to be blew my mind; So many variables came together to get just the right timing, the right person, and the luck of a random picking to be previewed; but let me just say that the first message it started with, I thought may have just been an automated message from submitting to the opportunity on sonicbids; at least every bit of it looked automated except one tiny sentence that was directed at me about joining their label (sender information was sonicbidsmailman, I received it within an hour of submitting, you usually always get an automated receipt). Anyway, long story short I contacted the label expecting not to get a reply, because of every label I've emailed, it just seems to fall on deaf ears, or get deleted the second it shows up.

The next day I got an email from the President of the label, Stephen Wrench, confirming that it was true. What was more, after having looked at their website, everyone there has an AMAZING music history, have worked with some of the biggest names around, have several branches and partnerships and just, well let me put it this way: Go to the site and take a look yourself. (link on bottom of this post)

So back to the story, after a few emails back and forth he gave me a number to call, which I called and got the machine. Later that night he gave me a call back and you know what? I never would have expected Stephen to be so down to earth and modest; not only did it really surprise me, but it was comforting. Most other times I talked to anyone in the industry it turns into this thing where they push me to pay for services after which they promise to shop it to labels for me or whatever; not this time.

After all of the research, stories I've been told and experience, I know I was offered an extremely good deal; contact has been good and I got a really good impression of Stephen and I'm a pretty good judge of character.

The past 2 days, I've been feeling very lucky and privileged to have been given such a great opportunity; No matter what happens, to be recognized by someone who has such experience and talent really makes it all feel worth it.

That said, their are a lot of exciting things to look forward to; My two albums and music videos are going to be re-released...only this time it's going to a mind numbing amount of stores, accompanied by a top notch press release that's being sent world wide, plus radio promotion for a time; and this is just for starters. Aside from the neat musical opportunities, I'm sure I will get to learn a lot from Stephen and everyone else I work with through the label; and to learn from their combined experience and skills, it's an opportunity of a life time.

So in case you couldn't already tell, I'm over the moon! and I can't wait to start working with everyone. So yea, that's my update, the biggest update I've ever given. Also note; All of my music has been taken down from the stores (some digital stores may still be in the process of removing it) as per condition of the contract, as it's now in the hands of the label. They will re-release it all and it should start showing up 6-8 weeks from now.

New album "Ethereal" Released!

Greetings, it is with great pleasure that I announce that my new album Ethereal, has been released!

It would have appeared over the past year or so that I've simply up and disappeared. The truth is, I've been hard at work consistently on the new album and you know what? From all feed back I've had so far, it's 1000 light years past my last album! So here's the deal, I'm scrambling my ass off with my busy schedule to get all my pages updated and get the word out, and I would really appreciate anyone who reads this to pass the word along.

So what does it mean for you, the listeners? Well you can listen to the entire album right here on my myspace page (after myspace processes half the songs) as well as some other places (links on the side) for free. You can also buy the album for a mere $6.50 from CD Baby, and I would expect it to be on iTunes and napster, reverbnation as well as a bunch of other stores in the coming weeks (though their pricing may be different). The album at this time is only available by digital download, this was done so that I could offer the album for a low price that I just couldn't do with manufacturing costs.

So why $6.50? I'll tell you; After the stores cut is taken, I get about $5.00 CAD. Why not free? 2 reasons:

1: I want to know that it's "worth" something to people. I worked my ass off on this, poured my heart and soul into Ethereal and I want to feel like it's appreciated. $6.50 is less than most people would spend at Mc.Donalds for a meal, and this is something that you will likely listen to over and over again. It will also mean more to YOU, because you actually invested something into it. It will give you that sense of ownership rather than just something you randomly downloaded off the net.

2: Every little bit of money I get, get's invested right back into my music and music videos. The money I make off of this will likely get spent on promoting the album so more people can enjoy it, and on props for music videos that I upload to youtube, that people watch for free.

In short, I want to make more content, get it into as many hands as possible, and know that it's appreciated and enjoyed. So please, if you like the music, buy it and tell your friends.

You can also look forward to 3 High Definition music videos from the album that I will be uploading to youtube very soon.

You can expect a lot more news in the coming weeks, including an in depth look at Ethereal and the behind the scenes details. I'm going to try and do these blogs more often, so check back regularly.
