Ode to Elitist Artists

Oh, praise the elitist artist!

Praise their superior talent that allows him to put his own music upon a pedestal, higher than any other.

Praise their "please love me" attitude that allows her to see how rife with sweet truth her own words really are.

Let us shower them with a red carpet of compliments for deftly adding an Em7 to the end of the second chorus.

Let us drink in their generosity for taking the time to teach us what "cool" really looks like.

Let us give thanks from the depths of our hearts for forcing us choose our words carefully, lest we share a dissenting opinion in mixed company.

Praise the elitist artist. The glory of your followers is only surpassed by the glory in your mirror.

solo style

Finally got around to making a page for my solo shiznitt. The Roadhouse Clams takes up a ton of my time, but thanks to your pestering, I got off my ass and did it!

Really digging the solo thing, too. It's pretty barren onstage, compared to playing with a 6-piece band like the Clams, but it doesn't get any more real than this. Audiences from NYC to Florida have been really supportive, and didn't throw things, so I take that as a good sign.

Coming up, I'm performing with the lovely Charlie Faye at Nightcat in Easton, MD on 7/12. She's one of my favorite singer/songwriters from down thattaway, and I'm both honored and nervous as hell to be opening for her. Tickets are $10. She's worth at least $37 on her own, and I'm worth about $3, so you're actually getting 75% off realistic ticket price, when you get right down to it.

Stan & Joe's has me locked in for a regular thing, every last Sunday or the month, and that Naptown pub atmosphere is fantastic.

Then in early August, I'm playing my first shows out of the US, down Grand Cayman. Our friends are getting married down there, and asked me to perform for the ceremony. So I figgered that while I'm down there with a guitar, I oughta get a public gig or two as well. So I'm also playing at the legendary Wreck Bar, up on Rum Point. I'm beyond geeked out for this trip! Just let me perform Buy Me An Island once at a Caribbean beach bar, and you can shoot me afterward.

Thanks again for your support. Give a listen to the tracks I've posted, and please leave a comment.

Love ya!
