God - Where Were You?

I found God on the corner of 1st and Amistad Where the West was all but won All alone, I said, “Where’ve you been?” He said, “Ask anything.” Where were you, when everything was falling apart? All my days were spent by the telephone that never rang And all I needed was a call that never came To the corner of 1st and Amistad Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me Lying on the floor, surrounded, surrounded Why’d you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you? Just a little late, you found me, you found me.

These words from The Fray’s ‘You Found Me’ seem to be echoing in the hearts of literally millions of people. Does the song express your heart as well? Haven’t you had things ‘fall apart’ on one level or another? It’s the tension we feel when we’re caught in between the way things are and the way things should be. It’s an emotional strain and drain that causes us to simultaneously remember that God is good – but also ask why our lives are not.

Like the home life that is supposed to be peaceful and renewing, yet is filled with the soundtrack of angry words and painful exchanges. Or perhaps even worse…is deafened by silence and disappointed glances. Like the relationship that started so amazingly well, yet ended with a callous and cowardly text or message on Facebook and left you feeling as valuable as the garbage you took out the week before.

Like the loss of a friend. Like the disappointment in circumstances. Like the million other things that make us cry out to God and ask – ‘Where were You?’ I think I know how you feel. Was Job some super saint that didn’t feel pain or could just blow it off? Not at all. He was human just as much as you or me, but the difference is he didn’t have a human perspective. Rather than focusing on the sting of things falling apart, he trusted in the power of the God who holds everything together. He worshiped God with tears and resisted the temptation to blame the evils of this world on the Creator of the universe. He refused to lose faith completely & become jaded like so too many of us do.

Yes, things do fall apart. Look at our society today. But isn’t that in part why you have come to the Master, Yashua? You are seeking healing and friendship. And I bet you seek to heal the wounded world around you too. And, yes, it is OK to find God on a corner and ask where He was or is in your situations. Friends, I’ve said it before – Keep asking, keep questioning, keep striving. However, try to think of the fact that the key to remember here is that there is a difference between asking and blaming. Asking is trying to find an answer. Blaming is assuming you already know. And what you SHOULD know is that God has it all under control. You may feel like He wasn’t there in a difficult time but the reality is He was probably closer than you ever imagined. He doesn’t need to find you because He never let you go in the first place. Now, Knowing This Truth Understand Now – You’re Not Done… Here is what The Source is telling you to do now. He says: “Rest, & then – It’s time for change, it’s the time to step it up. It time to stop hiding behind excuses for the lot of your life. It’s the time to make a difference. It is time to be bold & move on. Yes, life is full of challenges, but remember – We are ONE!! We can overcome anything regardless of where we come from, or what are denominational ideologies might be. Besides its not really about that – Its about You – Your God – Your Brother – Your Sister — The rest will fall together naturally… So take heart!!”

Youth Leader & Contemporary Christian Musician Created Anti-Bullying Campaign

23 March 2012 - The International Coalition For Youth Of Christ, a global youth outreach ministry of the Universal Life Church World Headquarters, Inc., based out of Carrabelle, Florida announced this week a new anti-bullying campaign in honor of 14 year old Eden Wormer of Vancouver, Washington. The former eigth grader at Cascade Middle School in Vancouver; comitted suicide earlier this month, by hanging herself, after enduring what friends and family describe as 2 years of bullying from classmates and peers.

The anti-bullying campaign, is aptly named, "Eden's Cry." According to Coalition founder and Vice-President of the non-denominational Church in Florida, Pastor Daniel Bodhi Chapin, who also serves as a contemporary christian musician in Los Angeles, CA stated that the anti-bullying program will coordinate aggressive efforts with schools, community centers, church youth groups, community leaders, and family members of youth throughout the United States to educate both adults and youth on the destructive nature of bullying; along with the value of peer support and motivational programs whether they be faith based or secular. "Eden's Cry," will seek to do so through dramatic skits, lecture presentations by youth and adults, ad campaigns and more. Another aspect of the "Eden's Cry," Campaign will be to provide National and even International Peer "Mentors" who will be made available to youth who connect with the program either through telephone and/or email. These mentors will serve much like big brothers and sisters; supporting youth enduring peer bullying and providing them with additional services including adult intervention as needed.

Funding from the program will be through private and corporate donations although Pastor Chapin of the Coalition stated Wednesday that the level of involvement and support will need to include governmental levels to increase its overall effectiveness and impact.

More information, including donation and programming information on how to have your school, community and/or church involved; can be obtained by contacting the International Coalition For Youth Of Christ and the Universal Life Church World Headquarters, Inc., via their website and/or by calling 818 935 1025.

Youth Leader Enters Hollywood, Ca Music Scene

Hollywood, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/09/2012 -- The International Coalition For Youth of Christ and the Universal Life Church World Headquarters, Inc., announce the added direction of their Vice President, Daniel "Bodhi Chapin" as he enters the Hollywood music scene. The International Coalition For Youth Of Christ, a ministry of the ULC World Headquarters, Inc., was originally founded by Chapin following the 1999 Columbine H.S. shooting in Littleton, Colorado and serves youth across the United States and Internationally with programs ranging from peer crisis lines to organizing local prayer groups. In the Fall of 1973, when Daniel "Bodhi" Chapin was 2 years of age, he found himself in the arms of Rock N Roll legend, Elvis Aaron Presley; photographed holding Daniel outside of his Memphis, Tennessee home. The photograph itself today remains within the Presley Estate and Chapin family archives. Daniel's mother, Joni Dean Delafield, herself a musician and former Julliard School of Music hopeful, had befriended the music icon some months earlier. The friendship remained until Presley's untimely death in 1977. With such a potential catalyst toward a music career, Daniel, however, chose differently, going on to achieve success as a youth leader, Christian Pastor and often contraversial social rights advocate. Most recently, Daniel was recognized for mobilizing youth from his International Coalition For Youth Of Christ Outreach; an extension ministry of the Universal Life Church World Headquarters, Inc., based out of Carrabelle, Florida; to provide peer support to the Chardon, Ohio community in response to the recent H.S. shooting there. The Universal Life Church World Headquarters, Inc. holds to the mission of pioneering innovative programs and services to meet the changing trends in the spiritual needs of people worldwide as well as to those who are called to minister to them. Occasionally, Daniel expressed some interest and success in the music industry; serving with EMI-CMG out of Nashville, Tennessee on projects promoting artists such as Contemporary Christian Music Grammy Winner, Rebecca St James and himself befriended many well known recording artists over the years. But Daniel never tapped into his personal music potential - Until now. With the recent development of his band out of Hollywood, California, and the upcoming release of their CD, Daniel "Bodhi" Chapin joins musical forces with China's Nationally acclaimed Violinist, Bing-Bing, Los Angeles Musicians Institute Faculty member and keyboardist, Ng Yuhong and succesful producer/musician, Dean "Prizm Prime" Daughters. The Band blends musical genres and positive messages which listeners and fans throughout are sure to enjoy. Hollywood, CA - Musician & Social Advocate Responds To Ohio Shooting

In response to the Chardon, Ohio High School shooting, Monday, February 27, 2012 the Universal Life Church, World Headquarters, Inc., a non-denominational world-wide Christian ministry based out of Carrabelle, Florida, within hours of the shooting, mobilized over a dozen high school students involved in its International youth ministry program, including students out of Cleveland, Ohio; some 30 miles away. The group, all high school youth helped rally prayer groups and met with some students hoping to offer support to their devastated peers, most of whom they did not know personally. The youth were a part of the church's, International Coalition For Youth Of Christ outreach program which, itself originated out of another High School Shooting at Columbine High School, April 20, 1999. On that morning in Littleton, Colorado, Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, killed 12 students and a teacher, and wounded dozens of others before eventually killing themselves. In Chardon, on Monday morning, at aproximately 7:30am, the alleged gunman, T.J. Lane, recently released to have been a "Troubled," and often "Bullied," student at a nearby school opened fire with a 22 caliber handgun inside the Chardon High School cafeteria. Initially, the rampage left one student dead and several others wounded, local officials said. As of the following Tuesday afternoon three of the reported five students shot were confirmed dead: Russell King Jr., 17., Demetrius Hewlin and Daniel Parmertor, 16. The ULC World Headquarters, Inc., Vice-President and Founder of the International Coalition For Youth Of Christ, Pastor Daniel "Bodhi" Chapin, who had also responded in 1999 at Columbine High School as a crisis counselor, released an official statement from his office in Southern California, Tuesday afternoon, on behalf of the church and its officers stating: "On behalf of our President, Michael Cauley, our worldwide ministers and most especially our youth, we offer our sincere condolences and ongoing prayers to the victims families, friends and overall community members. Our prayers, however, will be followed with action to support as best we can those affected locally and Nationally by this devastating tragedy." To that affect, the church plans to continue its' support through a letter to local community leaders, the school itself and victims families hoping to encourage individuals and the community to continue to rally together in support of each other. Additionally, the church has extended the services of its' Medical Advisory Board, composed of Pastoral Counselors & Crisis Interventionists; as desired and needed. As of Tuesday afternoon, several ULC World Headquarters, Inc., ministers, from Florida to South Carolina, penned support to families and the overall Chardon, Ohio community. Jennifer Bradley, 17 of Cleveland, Ohio was one of the youth from the ULC's youth ministry, who drove into Chardon, Ohio Monday evening to attend a prayer group at a local church stated, "This is so devastating but we are here to show our support and be a friend during a time when our peers so very much need it. That's what Christ would do. We believe its about prayer but also getting off our needs and being a real manifestation of that prayer."
