Hello everybody,
Many of you might wonder why nothing has been heard from us yet after recording a whole new album. Well, many things have happened this past time, a part from within the band, a part from the label and a part from everything that has been going on generally.
I think that I should start from where I left it last time, the album. The album has been recorded and the cover art has been done. Everything looked amazing! We had 11 fresh songs and a really nice and of course theatrical artwork! All was well until a major falling out we had with the label that was supposed to release our album due to... lets just say unprofessional behaviour, clearly from their part. This didn't lower our morale however, but still something was wrong from within. We tried to solve some differences that had started between the members and unfortunately we had to release Antonis. After that the political/financial/blah blah blah instability came which forced us to just sit down and think our options. Instead of finding new members right away to fill the bass and drums positions, we decided to stabilze our personal lives first. Clearly, if that didn't happen, Tristi Somnium would definately not be around anymore. We are still in that process, hopefully with the worst things behind us and I do admit that putting an end to Tristi Somnium really went through my head more than a couple of times. Thankfully that didn't happen. Instead we found new members and rehearsed and then tried the new line-up live! We did a gig at Justin's Bar, Matalla and it was great! Full house, packed with positive energy, people dancing in the middle of the road to our music! Best time we had in a year!
About the new members, brothers Nikitas and Stelios Malliaros joined us, after a brief discussion and just one rehearsal! They just fitted perfectly from the very first moment, not to mention that I was blown away from their musical performance. They were just the right guys at the right time and in my very humble opinion it's the best line-up we ever had. No whinning, no frustration, just pure positive energy!
So this is pretty much everything that has transpired this past year. I would personally like to apolgize to everyone that has been waiting and don't worry, this album will definately be released and more will follow! We will also do more gigs in the future but first we have to stabilize our lives if we want this to happen.
Please be patient and stay tuned!
Much respect,
Val

Hey everybody,
It's been some since I last wrote a diary and things were busy! We had our ups and downs during that period but we finally FINISHED RECORDINGS!!! :D
We had to take a small break in order for Eva to recover from her soar throat, now that I think of it, I don't feel my throat well too :S, and, in that free time, see what to do for the bassist auditions following Manos' departure... This took us a few days off schedule, but what can we do against the forces of nature? Just to spoil you people, just a bit for now, I'll tell you that Antonis is already on the look out, but the big spoiling will come now! Here I'll give you the list of the names of the songs that will be featured in this year's album. Here goes:
1. The new deadly sins (intro)
2. Enough
3. Bad Habit
4. I tried
5. World's purest love
6. Paradise Eve
7. Ecstasy
8. Stay strong
9. Still here
10. Missing
11. Birth
So there you have it. All the names of the songs!
We also have discussed the concept of the album's cover and booklet with the artist and tomorrow we have a very special photoshoot for it! I'm not revealing it, it's a surprise! Soon we will have everything ready to be released, so stay tuned for the album's release date!
Keep it metal my friends!
Peace, Love & lots of Gain on your amp's lead channels,
Val

In the beggining of this week we finished recording all instruments and Eva hit the studio for vocals! So, where was I last time? It was right after we finished the fourth song's guitar recordings. Next day and for almost a week, six more songs followed. A few strong ones, a few "semi-ballads" and only one actual ballad. Then, it was time for the keyboards to come into the mix! No experiments with the recording tech in that case, only the good old fashion way. One by one every song was recorded and processed. Just like that, one take every recording! Yeap, that's the best thing when it comes to keyboards! Everything went sooooooooo smooth! :D This week was Eva's time to record vocals. So far she has done 3 tracks and personally I believe she did an excellent job! She then took a break for a few days to fix one of her teeth and it was that time when we did the intro of the album. We decided to make it sound as much disturbing(!!!) as possible! I think we achieved that goal! So, 7 more songs to go! Eva will start recording again the day after tomorrow and I believe that we will have the very first mastered versions by next week! That's it for now, gotta go and take a nap, I've only slept for 4 hours last night. ^^
Cheers mates and keep rockin',

It's 2:36 AM and I just finished hearing parts of the music of what is going to be the first 3 songs of the album. As many of you know, we are recording our second album, it's almost 3 weeks now. We already got drums and bass recorded and had some really nice results! Personally, I loved the bass recordings, we experimented a lot with the sound and the final result was a nice, deep roar.
My turn for the guitars came this Monday. We started with preparations, checking the mics and tech stuff mostly. Then I did 2 or 3 takes every time to see how the sound was recorded, it was the same with the bass but without the "experiment" part. On Tuesday I started normally and so far we have recorded 4 songs, the same songs that were on the demo we used when we left our old label to search for a new one.
The first track was a heavy one, that was a lot of palm mutting! Then it was the turn for two of what I call "semi-ballads", some heavy parts, some sensitive. Loved every moment! Then came another heavy but it came with a small disappointment, it was really late and we had to call it a night before we could make a rough mix... :'( I always love to hear the results right after the recordings! ^^
Six more tracks before the keyboards come into the mix and I can't wait! So, that's it for now, it's 3:17 AM already, damn, I am such a slow writer, and I gotta hit the sack because we start again early in the morning! So,
cheers guys! \m/-.-\m/

After a serious talk between the Municipality and Tristi Somnium, it was descovered that the owner of AK Vibe, Athanasios Athanasakis was responsible for the screw up between the schedule of all the bands, the late soundchecks and the cutting of the sound after 4AM on June 2nd. The Municipality NEVER gave such orders, as that certain company was scheduled for sound and stage services for 3 days non-stop. This was clearly the company's own decision... The Municipality promised to responsibly apologize for the inconvenience to all musicians and set the matters straight with the company.

Final account: 18 hours of waiting, late soundcheck, band members getting sick, no respect for any musician (Tristi Somnium or other), sound closing before Tristi Somnium getting on stage. Tristi Somnium has nothing to state commenting on municipality of Festos, as they obviously are incapable of handling anything. Tristi Somnium would only like to apologize to all these people that came to Matala to listen to some metal and didn't get what they asked for. We will make it up to you on June 16th on LaVilla!
