Back to Boston- for now!

Well September sure was a CRAZY month! Or we can start the last weekend in August:

August 28th, My band played a showcase at the Providence, RI Convention Center as part of the International Worship Leader's Conference: Rejoice! Wow! What a night! Some of the videos from that show are up on my Facebook page. But we had a full band, 6 back up singers- AWESOME! Had a great time, too. We even played "Deep Impact" about the battle between the angels and demons at Preteen Camp 1998- that ROCKED. And we did our favorite jazzy numbers like the "Coffee Song" and "Get in the Water".

I also got to sit in with some wonderful musicians from Germany the next day- AND my old A cappella group: Faith in Action did a cameo set to promote our last CD.- Fantastic weekend!

The next week it was off to Chicago where Ralph and I played a church performance in Saint Charles, IL to a warm response. We played "Martha. Martha"- several women noted they could really relate to the lyrics.

Sept 12 it was down to Hartford, CT with Johnny V to play the "Night of HOPE" benefit for Hope Worldwide. This was on of the most wonderful shows EVER! The audience was so "With us"! They clapped spontaneously after solos, they sang along, they cried at the right times and laughed at the right times- even gave us standing O's after numerous songs! Wow! My favorite comment that weekend was from Barb Oberle who said that my music was "Nourishing to her soul"- Print that. On top of it all we were moved deeply by the presentations about the AIDS work in Africa through HOPE Worldwide. Joshua Smith, the marvelous painter who invited us there to play- we'll be back ANY time you call!

Sept 18th I was flying solo to showcase in Atlanta at the Arts and Entertainment Conference being held there. I was bit out of place amongst all the Hip Hop- but it was an exciting ride! Thank you to all who encouraged me when I received the tragic news of my Uncle Dave's death that weekend. God rest his soul.

Finally, I was off to New Jersey to play for Uncle Dave's funeral on September 24th then back to the Hartford area to play with Johnny V at Jitters Cafe in Southington on the 26th.

Wow! At last I am in my own bed again! Can you relate? And oh the laundry etc to do!

Keep in touch to find out where my next adventures will take me!

- Julie

A Summer to Remember

Artist Julie Kinscheck has been out and about a whole lot for a mom of 4 year old twins this spring and summer!

It all began with Julie zooming cross country to Los Angeles to play at the memorial of her 105 year old grand dad and at the prestigious: Verbrato's with veteran jazz singer Barbara Morrison and her talented drummer brother, Gary Gibbons.

Just a week later came the release of the new CD: "Grace with Jazz On Top" at a women's event in Toronto, Canada.

A while later Julie had the honor to sing and teach at a worship conference in Chicago. It was an inspiring and encouraging time!

Next stop was the GMA conference in the Rockies in Colorado. Though competitions there came to naught, it was a musical and spiritual retreat of great magnitude! That is also where she got to meet and ride to the airport with Mandisa from 2006 American Idol- the profile picture right now.

The summer was rounded out with a trip to Maine where she sang again at a memorial and enjoyed much needed R&R with her family... only draw back were thousands of mesquitoes, a black widow spider, some wasps and yard long water snake- stories for another day!

Life as a Mom, music ministry, gigs and teaching continue... and we keep looking for ways to make this word a better place and pay our bills, too! A couple of shining moments were the gymnastics victories of the American Women in the Olympics and the glorious speak at the Republican convention by Sarah Pallin.

Happy fall!
