PSYCHOSTICK is humor-core. A firm education of metal and salacious hooks, topped with lyrical content about busted cars (Two-Ton Paperweight), sex (Orgasm = Love) and the real reason why musicians get together (In a Band to Get Chicks). Formed in 2001 and assembling from several states across the country, PSYCHOSTICK found Tempe, AZ to be the place they call home. After releasing several demos (2002's Don't Bitch, It's Free and 2003's Die.... A Lot) the band finally released a proper album in 2003 titled We Couldn't Think of a Title.
Despite the limitations of a local release, the song "Beer" struck a chord with radio jocks around the country who in turn began playing it almost non- stop. It's well known in radio that djs are rarely given the opportunity to hand-pick new music and promote it at will, but this was clearly an exception to the rule. The single-word anthem of a call- and- response chorus bearing its namesake would not only elevate PSYCHOSTICK's popularity, but also garner the attention of Rock Ridge Music.
The band would eventually sign to Rock Ridge, who in turn re-released "We Couldn't Think of a Title" in 2006 and gave it the proper national distribution it deserved. That, combined with a $15,000 self-financed end-cap investment deal with Best Buy and their first national tour, the album would sell over 34,000 units.
In February and March 2008 the band headlined their "Holy Crap We're Touring" Tour.
In May and June 2008 the band headlined the "Terrible Shirt Tour" with Powerglove and Look What I Did along for support.
