Medinah Starr Prepares to Release her Highly Anticipated EP this December
Philadelphia, PA, November 24th, 2008 - “Serious Intermission” is the long awaited EP from female rap sensation Medinah Starr featuring indie strongholds Torae, Access Immortal and Shabaam Sahdeeq. Production from talented producers such as Nick Wiz, John Doe and P-God brings this prolific MC’s story to life and allows her to shine like the Star that she is!
As usual, Medinah Starr has no problem touching on a variety of topics, namely the music industry and the ups and downs of her career. Hitting the hip-hop scene in 2006 with an underground classic mix tape, “The Renaissance: the rebirth of hip-hop, vol. I”, her journey to stardom has not been an easy one.
Always the underdog bringing nothing to the table but a love for music and pure lyrical skill, Medinah managed to stand out in a male dominated industry with no gimmicks and no well-known established co-signers. The pretty face and petite frame increases the element of surprise when she begins to rap about poverty, politics, sexism and racism.
Following her debut album, “Beyond Reazon” released in January 2008 on Introspect Records, “Serious Intermission” is strong in production, delivery and content and reveals a more mature, yet lyrically aggressive MC. People that have followed this artist since her genesis can truly hear the evolution and newcomers are sure to be impressed by her versatility. Songs like “Beauty & Pain”, “Cool Chick” and “Hold Me Down” captivate the listener. These songs transcend the label “hip-hop” and can’t be categorized as anything less then good music.
With fans in the US, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Canada, Medinah Starr’s lyrics touch people all over the world. Her journey, her story and her music has solidified her name in indie hip-hop history and “Serious Intermission” is sure to be a classic EP with timeless meaning and energy.
“Serious Intermission” will be released December 22nd, 2008 on Introspect Records. Introspect Records is an independent label based in Philadelphia, PA, established in 2007. The label’s first official release was Access Immortal’s sophomore album, “American Me”. Find out more about Medinah Starr and Introspect at www.myspace.com/medinahdeen or www.introspectrecords.net.

Medinah Starr Steps Back in the Game ??
Everyone has been asking, "Starr are you going to come back?" Fans and friends are asking me and I keep giving everyone different answers because the truth is, I'm afraid. That's right! Superwoman is afraid... I'm afraid of this ruthless industry sucking my positive energy from me again. I'm afraid of it becoming more about album sales, catchy hooks, and sexy pics than it is about true heartfelt music. I'm afraid of reacting and over-reacting to the bullshit, the discrimination against female Mcs that still exists, the interviewers that are more concerned with who I'am sleeping with than who I am as a person. But the truth is I own my thoughts and my feelings, and every behavior is proceeded by a thought and a feeling so it is my decision to control my thoughts and my emotions and to step back in the arena and start making music.
I don't care what the haters have to say at this point. I'm grown. I'm established. I own and operate my own label so I must not conform for anyone and I'm above the hate. So I'm back. Maybe a commercial release in the future... maybe not. We will see which way the karmatic wind blows.

I Need Your Help - USE MY WIDGETS
Hey peoples, this is Medinah Starr (no manager or publicist speaking for me right now). In the hip-hop game, there are not too many female MCs with talent and a positive realistic message. I'm trying to get my music out to as many people as I can, not for the money, but because I have a message - hip-hop over violoence, music over violence, education over violence! In the upcoming months, I'm doing alot of free outdoor concerts spreading the message of peace, unity and upliftment with hip-hop! Please grab my widgets and post them on your page ! Spread the word about my shows and my message! Let people know I exist! Much LOVE Medinah Starr
