Texaco Country Showdown

Well no free gas for this singer, but I was honored to compete with some great folks. No Lolly gagging for this band as we have some entertaining to do. I'm excited about moving into the holiday season and maybe these Texas temperatures will start dropping a little and folks can enjoy some great music under the Texas stars. Or next gig is at Little Woodrow's in Bee Caves on Sept. 30th. Looking forward to playing with my friends again.

Texaco Country Showdown

July 29th I competed in the Texaco Country Showdown. I decided to sing an original tune that I wrote almost 10 years ago. I don't normally do this song with my band, but it's one of my favorite songs and has always been a great companion in a lot of competitions. It's got a great hook and it's a nice fun ballad. Well after all the votes were in I made it through to the next round scheduled for August 12th. I meet some great singers and look forward to competing again.

Texaco Country Showdown

So at the last minute, I submitted our studio version of, He Stopped Loving Her Today to the Texaco Country Showdown. It was the day before the deadline and I threw together a quick movie made with band stills, added the song and posted the movie to youtube and sent in the link.

Last week while I was down in Houston, I got a call that I was chosen as 1 of 24 vocalists to sing at the semi-finals here in Austin, Tx as Midnight Rodeo on July 29th. I'm pretty excited about this opportunity, not only to to showcase my voice, but for the opportunities that it may bring the band.

While we continue to market ourselves in the Austin area, some state wide branding ad name recognition can't hurt. Regardless of the outcome on the 29th, It's still going to be an honor just to participate.
