SINISTER BLACK / Blog

Sinister Fall / Winter 2011

Sinister Black has been busy busy busy...we hope you all had a crazy summer - we did ! Theres a number of new songs in the works and a number that have been completed over the last few months. We are just finalizing the pre-production tapes before we are going into the "Big" studio late this year.

Individually we all have been up to lots of extra stuff as well over the summer....

Wayne (guitar/ vocals) has been presenting a monthly acoustic showcase and has been very well received. A number of metal heavy weights have taken the plunge and unplugged themselves for these events. These have been VERY eclectic and diverse and it shows what true talent our friends and peers truly are. His music company (Climbing Richter Music) has been busy as well. Wayne is currently recording a very cool solo acoustic album and has been working with some extremely talented bands in our area doing some recordings for them as well.

GoReDzilla (Bass) has been his typical maniac self and has been doing a lot of HD Live concert recording with his music company (Fatality Music Canada) and is putting together a under ground music magazine to be launched later this year. There will be news, reviews, political rants, crazy art work, etc. It will be available in limited collectors print versions at selected rehearsal spots in the Vancouver BC lower mainland and a online version will be available as well. GoReDzilla is also doing a bit of travelling through the US promoting Sinister Black and having a tonne of fun.

Ron Pistell (Drums) is fronting a killer new band called Rhino and have been ripping the paint off the walls around the Vancouver BC area. These guys are really something to see ! They have been getting really cool press and exposure. Rhino is currently working on getting their songs ready to record a debut CD later this year.

Sinister Black is 97% SOLD OUT of all merchandise - Thanks everyone. There will be new shirt designs, pins, stickers, and maybe even a couple of limited edition EPs coming very soon, expect news about this in the the next couple of months.

Thanks for supporting us and as always feel free to contact us anytime....we LOVE hearing from all of you ALL !

May 2011 craziness

Hi everyone... So our little tour of BC and Alberta went VERY well. The band had a total blast traveling around, driving through the gorgeous rocky mountains, meeting all kinds of eclectic people, visiting cities we haven't been to before and getting our feet wet on the road (literally...lol) We had an epic time in Calgary and Penticton was fun as well. We will hopefully be back to both cities this summer.

Our video for the song "Salty Spread" is being finalized and will be released later this summer. Our new EP is out and is selling quite nicely. As well, we have new shirts and pins !

I hope you summer is starting off as good as ours....stay tuned for more exciting show and a lot more surprises coming you way from Sinister Black !

Feb 2011

Well things are getting better! Some real exciting stuff happening right now!! We are in Alchemy Studio in New Westminster B.C.with engineer extrordanaire Scott Young recording our new 3 Song E.P.to preceed our third yet untitled album. It is great to work with someone new and do things a little differently this time around. After self producing and engineering our first two albums it seemed it was time for a change.Scott is really helping us come up with some awesome results and the songwriting has progressed such a long way since our last album. We are also working on our first official professional video to coincide with one of the new songs off of the new E.P.with film, video director Rita Godbout. The video is still in it`s early stages but we predict something nothing less than impressive. We are also working on tour dates for western canada for this spring and new Sinister Black pins have just been released. Stay tuned here to our reverbnation page for more details. Stay Sinister!!

Coming soon!

Sinister Black has had it's delays and tough times this year, with the departure of Remo J.G and other personal issues in the band causing major delays, these things always happen just when a band is picking up momentum. However things seem to look good on the horizon with Gord Latham aka GorEdZilla taking over on bass and adding a powerful new element to the band. Also a new album on the way,new more progressive material is being written, however Sinister Black is maintaining the rawness you would expect.Newer larger tours are also anticipated, this should all kick in shortly.Stay tuned,Stay Sinister.
